    2014 Toyota 4Runner

All things considered, I think they made some good changes. The more interesting front end, revised rear, red stitching, hood scoop (not exclusive on the Trail anymore perhaps?) and even showing it in red instead of a simply silver or grey. Really needs a transmission upgrade though, factoring in that the Grand Cherokee comes with an 8-speed. Speaking of, I think the GC is better but this is an improvement anyhow.

I like that design. Looks pretty sharp. Why does the Highlander look so weird in comparison to this? It's the same company.

This could very well be my next SUV. Since GM refuses to build a Trailblazer it looks like Toyota will get my 40K. I love the updated interior and rear tail lights. The front end will have to grow on me. It is a real shame GM abandoned this segment of vehicle. They would rather focus on cars like the Spark and Volt - stuff that I have no interest in. I would consider a Tahoe but I really don't need that much SUV - furthermore a 4WD LTZ even after all the incentives is still easily in the low 50's. This update does nothing to change my mind on what my next purchase would be. However a Trailblazer with a 4.3L SIDI V6 certainly would!

I want to see how the Limited and SR5 look as those would be the two models I would be most interested in.

The red one shown is the Trail model, which according to the press release gains the color keyed door handles and bumpers and the silver on the bottom of both bumpers that the show car has. I definitely want to see a Limited to see how the grille looks there.

The front end will have to grow one me, but the new IS and Avalon were polarizing in pics at first too, but look normal and pretty good in person up close. This one likely will too.

In an attempt to be positive the design is polarizing but trying too hard to be tough.

The new avalon looks good in person? No way. Toyota ruined one of their best looking cars with the new look.

Not sure of it on the 4Runner either.

A capable and well built machine no doubt. But its one ugly nasty looking vehicle. Looking like a gremlin there.

I find it sad that some people wish for GM to fail and can't comprehend any good news. A plausible explanation for this kind of behavior is that you have a miserable life so you wish the same to others. Cory Pham, Autoblog Poster

GM must return its divisions to being interdependent entities within the corporation. Decentralize and free the different divisions talents to foster brand differentiation and customer loyalty.

    Re: 2014 Toyota 4Runner

The new Avalon and new Highlander (the latter based only on pictures at this point) are good looking to me. Toyota badly needed more interesting looking vehicles and they are a solid step in the right direction. It's too bad the Camry missed that boat, but hopefully the new Corolla will be bestowed with styling close to the concept car that it'll be based on. One can hope.

I was thinking the same - the front is very Mitsu (which is not a good thing - overdone, fussy fish face). I do like the profile, and for once I don't hate the back of a Toyota truck (for me visually the back end styling Toyota always goes for height, giving their trucks minivan proportions).

Ah haha. I haven't seen an Internet hate fest for a car as bad as this since the Crosstour.

Ha, you are right, I just read the comments, overall most lean towards negative. Sadly, Toyota has had more ugly vehicles than good looking yet they continue to sell....

The 4 runner hasnt cracked 50k since the redesign. Not good for a vehicle that used to be in the 100k. I think its got a little too big for its mission.
