    Is This The '07 Camry?

I posted this last week in a thread in the Asian section; don't think many caught it. I'm not sure what it is, but it's new. Have never heard of a Premio before in Japan. Have any of you heard of it? It's either their version of the current Camry as we know it (unlikely) or the new one. I just happened upon it totally by accident.

VERY unlikely since their version of the current Camry can be found elsewhere on the site:

The Allion is a JDM model based on the Euro Avensis platform.

That's what I thought (not being able to decipher a lot of Japanese hurt me in trying to find the Camry site!!). Toyota DOES offer the Camry that we have in Japan; it's Honda that has a seperate model (Acura TSX, I assume) over there. Honda Japan doesn't sell our Accord.

The Toyota model I happened upon isn't a Lexus model either. So, what the heck is it? The front does look a lot like the camoed Camry we've seen; it's the back that doesn't.

Honda Japan DOES sell the American Accord as Inspire, as well as the Euro Accord as the, well, Accord (the latter one is what NA gets as Acura TSX). The same thing in Australia, where there are Accord and Euro Accord.

Japanese automakers offer virtually everything they make around the world in Japan (maybe except some outdated models and very big trucks), but not the other way around. As to Toyota sedans, Camry and Corolla are the same as around the world (sans soem styling details), Window is ES330, Celsior is the LS (only until Lexus gets estabilished as a separate brand), Premio and Allion are Avensis cousins, Brevis and Progres are more conservative IS 300 cousins, Avensis is the Euro Avensis, Prius is Prius, and the Crown series and Century are JDM specific RWD sedans.

Concensus on other sites is that the Premio is too small to be a Camry; in between the Camry and Corolla in size. I guess.

The Toyota Japan lineup bores me. I love Suzuki's funky designs over there tho.

The Subaru R1/R2 is pretty neat too:
