    Zeta Cadillac V8 SRX-7

    Cadillac V8 SRX-7

With the new SRX seating capacity reduced from 7 to 5 their is room to have two vehicles, the new V6 SRX-5 and a high-end luxury V8 SRX-7.

One way to make the Zeta Cadillac business case work would be to take advantage of the strength Holden built into Zeta for Utes etc.

Design a large Cadillac LWB Sedan that can share 90% of its parts with a large high end Caddy 4WD 7 seat CUV based on the sedan. Holden did this with the 4WD Adventra wagon.

One thing we do know is that people actually buy SUV/CUV Cadillac’s…

    For comparison: XTS

Somehow Cadillac needs to incorporate the famous fins theme and tear-drop tail lights that are so Cadillac.

I do not know this to be true, but I believed from the beginning that the XTS could branch off a CUV. That car would be based on the Super Epsilon platform, not the Zeta. Additionally it would be a V6, or hybrid for budget and CAFE standards. However for this to work, the CUV must be released as close as possible to the Sedan availability; as delays would conflict MCE changes as the CTS lineup is currently experiencing a slowdown in sales and interest.

I'd try making it a little taller...seems just like an XTS Wagon to me.

Likewise... a little faux wood paneling and metallic pea green paint and we'd be rocking.

Done... but XTS is small compared to this....

I'm not proposing these particular designs be used.

They were done just to demonstrate that profitable economies of scale for a large Cadillac RWD Zeta Sedan could be reached by pairing it with a CUV platform mate.

By sharing 80% of parts the CUV sales would support the lower sales of a large V8 RWD sedan. This is not about design, but justifying a business case at a time when large sedan sales are falling...

I think if the XTS is the future direction for Cadillac design, its a bunch of fail. Nothing should be based around that design.

    I sort of agree w/you.
The front end is ok, but the rest of it, no way, forget it!
Though I see a disconnect in the A&S design language between the XTS & the CTS line/SRX. Not an evolution & definitely not a revolution.

    !!!!
IF It's A Chevrolet & RWD, Don't ride in it!!!

ALL Chevy's NEED to be FWD/F-AWD!!!

    If it's a Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Don't ride in/drive it!!

No need to be sorry, I really liked the AMC Eagle. But I was going for a more Holden Adventra vibe. Anyway Lutz likes it...

If you're sending all of your chops to Lutz for approval, when does he have the time to do his job? Or maybe that's his new capacity (he apparently doesn't have that much to do, he replied to Victor Muller's email offer on Saab in 8 minutes).
