    Various Concepts

    Just-for-fun concepts!

    Oldsmobile - Cutlass

    Pontiac - Grand AM

    Pontiac - Firebird

    Pontiac - Bonneville

    Pontiac - Bonneville

    Oldsmobile - 442

The Oldsmobile - Baliz ( Can also be viewed in 'The Merger' Competition. This is a concept that features periferral cameras rather than mirrors. Video screens are strategically and ergonomically placed so that drivers can easily see (without having to look to either side) the views to the left and right...much like a rear view monitor.

they are all pretty interesting. your art style is different, but thats not too much of a bad thing. the firebird aint to bad, and the Grand Am rear kinda intrigues me.

Thank you all! I really needed a lift today after a hellacious Tuesday in the office. I'm glad you enjoyed these concepts. These are all original, not chops, and I have many more in my portfolio. I have just not really thought of sharing them until recently. I enjoy chops, but there is much more of a challenge with originals. Sometimes the perspectives are eskew, and I am working on that. I am a novice who simply loves cars. I have designed some pretty ugly cars. And a few, maybe not so ugly. But I am spirited!

I use PhotoSuite software. It has a 'paint' selection tool, among other effects brushes. I start with a blank page and develop a general concept (white on black for example like a negative). Once I have somethng to work with, I begin defining edges and shapes of elements. Once this is done, I begin detail work, color selection, etc. I use the 'paint' tool to begin painting the concept. Using the right colors and hues is the key. Getting light refraction and glare are easy to 'add-in' because an implied light source effect is unlimited. These are not modified photos and I do not cut/paste. All chrome, light housing, wheels are "painted".

Let me know if I can give you more info. And, I really appreciate your interest. I do not really like my technique and contnue to strive for more realistic effects..but I have to do them by hand and memory. Sometimes, I will look at a magazine for inspiration on reflection work and damper elements. I find this very helpful.
