    Track Day Racer

I was thinking about how low the price of Ferrari Testarossa's are compared to other supercars (US$50-60K) with few miles on them. They are not the most fashionable Ferrari but they do have a few things I like, mid-engine layout, pop-up headlights, low and wide exotic body. And there are turbo kits for them giving up to 1,000hp.

Anyway; one way to make any Ferrari cooler is to race it on a track. To that end I did this chop of what I would do to make my ideal Ferrari Track Day Racer from a low mileage, low cost TR.

While I like pretty road cars I hate pretty racecars. I like racecars to look tough, mean and painted in brutal colors and patterns......

    Nice work.
The only thing I disagree with is the placement of the prancing horse shield.
It should be on the front fender between the wheel well & door.

    !!
IF It's A Chevrolet & RWD, Don't ride in it!!!

ALL Chevy's NEED to be FWD/F-AWD!!!

    If it's a Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Don't ride in/drive it!!

Nice work mate, but then I always loved the Testa Rossa anyway. It was one of the first Matchbox cars i bought with my own money.

I tried it in a few spots but avoided the top rear of the front fender where everyone puts them because, well I like to be different....

Actually Testarossa as one word usually describes the modern vehicle and the 1958 250 Testa Rossa is a famous Ferrari racing car...

Being just that bit older than you my first experience of the Testarossa was at the Adelaide Grand Prix where we had a corporate hospitality tent and Ferrari brought one out especially for the event in '85. While I was driving a Jag at the time my mate had a 308 GTB, which I spent a lot of time in. And I often went to the Ferrari Car Club events.

I remember that Grand Prix well. My mates bet me I couldn't pull this gorgeous blonde F1 Pit Girl who was a model and had been on the cover of Australian Vogue. Lauren was her name and I got her number and a date that night. But after her mother told me I was best rid of her and several wild dates later I was glad to see the back of her. Have you ever dated the kind of girl who seems to like to try to get her date into bar fights? Crazy girl, even if super hot....

Of course being Aussies you would need a big powerful V8 to tow the Track Car on a 4-wheel trailer to events...... None of this Yankee Silverado truck with 5th wheel business....

I dunno, for 50K you could build one heck of a C5 Vette and drive it to the track pulling a trailer with its race tires :-)

Cool photoshop man, I'm digging the livery. I know that thing would be a hit at any event it rolled in to.

This is gonna sound completely ridiculous, but your chop looks more realistic than the base picture.

I've actually been out with one who got into a fight with another girl and was bounced.

    Class act that one.

Same here! I loved them back in the day, particularly from the rear.

nice subtle chop and a great story

Too bad we don't get the big power V8s like you lucky s.o.b.s in Aussie-land get. We're stuck with the 5th wheel business you take note of as we have no other choice in the matter
