    SS+Solstice= G8?

*edit* I got on the computer tonight, and did a really rough photoshop, printed it, and then traced it, now I have a picture of what I was thinking, tell me what you all think....*/edit*

I am sorry to start a pictureless thread in here, but I couldn't think of a better place. I was thinking, (or wondering):

Has anybody thrown the front of the solstice onto the Chevy SS concept? I think that would make quite the smashing G8 (Grand Prix), and would fit in well with the new Pontiac family look.

I would happily do the chop myself had I the photoshop skills, But truthfully, I don't, (nor do I have the patience ) It wouldn't hurt for somebody to try it either *hint hint*

That would be a nice car, but I'm probably no better at photoshop than you are.

I think I might try it as soon as I get Photoshop onto the new computer, but that has to wait until monday....

Here is an update, this is what I was thinking about. I think it would be a pretty cool thing to do, Definately what Pontiac Needs. Also, I know, I know, It should be Grand Prix, but we all know that no matter how much we gripe, Pontiac will change the Grand Prix to G8.

I never really liked the front of the SS concept. This is much better. If GM built something like this it sure would sell. But one thing I would like to see on the next gp/g8 is a coupe like roofline.

Well, the Drawing looks a heck of a lot better, my photoshopping skills aren't the best, and the photoshop right now is red and grey..... grey where the solstice parts were bolted on

Had I better skills, the Photoshop would definately be better than the drawing bar none.

thanks all for the comments! This is what I would LOVE to see as the next G8/Grand Prix.

It's amazing how well those two designs mesh together.

I'm not a fan of the "alhpanumeric" naming thing either, but if Ponitac is going that way, they should use "G9" for thier biggest car, not "G8". It just rolls off the tounge better - try saying them both a few times. With the "G5" coupe and the G6 family, a nice RWD G9 and the "G2?" Solstice (wait for it, like the MX5 Miata) and "G4" Torrent, Pontiac could have a nice lineup. Then maybe the next GTO will be a G7.

It looks really good, I like it. I also agree, G8 sounds like a small economy car while G9 sounds a little bit better. I don't think that the letter G would be good if you want the car to sound powerful or muscular, it reminds me of Geo.
