    Sportvan Monza

Here's a quick chop of a microvan or a tribute to the old chevy sportvan.
It was the chevy 'microbus' of its time. It was a plain delivery van but was it the basis of the 'Scooby doo' magic van and many early 'love' vans of the time. The concept is to play with the 'one' box with plenty of fun cues. Widebody bulges beyond the box volume and below-the-beltline windows. The seating position is intentional low to create a sports car cocoon/high beltline for the driver as oppose to the traditional high seating position. The lower center of gravity for ther concept is important for it's sporting intentions.
If you're wondering how you get in, I'm still working out an LSD door setup.

I might not agree with some details, but the whole concept is awesome, and so is your execution!

I'm interested with the details of your critique. With the Smart micros coming to the states, I'm forsee this segment needs to be explored. The American car market do not even know, much less see the micro segment. We know golf community carts but not as freeway capable vehicles. The more expensive gas and changing fuel/energy (hydrogen & ethanol mix) will change the large vehicle architecture on our roads. We will still require 'space' and need sporting capabilities. I see 'one' box shapes coming, notwitstanding pedestrian collision requirements here, that has to be very inspiring for the public to buy into. A chop does have inherent limitations due to the use of existing photos. A clean sheet drawing is really the way to do this.

Reminds me of the VW van that never made it to production. Might just be funky enough to work.

Yeah, ...you captured some of the Sportvan feel to it. Was that the Nissan Urge concept car that you started with ?...nice, so far. Doors?...hey you can always just crawl in the sides !...LOL.

This is great! A lot of creativity in this one. Although I wouldn't buy it but that goes with most or all minivans anyways. Good job and great execution!

That's pretty freaking sweet! I can see that and a more convensional minivan for Chevy... two of them, for two different crowds. And, hey, since it seems there's more and more hippies, it could be the next big hippie van - definately resembles it in its overall shape. :p lol Not a bad thing at all!
