    Saturn Reactor (updated)

edit: see update below in thread

this is very preliminary so far. its fairly rough, and i'm working on making it much much better:

    behold the saturn reactor

a few things that i feel i should point out:
the car overall is about the size of the current GTO, so i'm thinking of it as a zeta platform candidate. (maybe i should base it off the velitte's overall proportions then... hmm...) that should also set up your expectations for performance, engines, etc.

a few of the more interesting things about the car - obviously i need to draw the headlights better, but i'm not planning on changing them much from their ion roots. its also a quad coupe, because that is a very saturn thing to do. the greenhouse i'm working on adapting over from the opel astra GTC - what with the wrap-over panoramic windshield, and the hatchback thing. there's a good chance that i will be unable to sufficiently draw the hatchback, and may just resort to a concentional coupe roofline, but that's just not as much fun, is it?

another nifty item that i'm trying to get on the car, that'll need to be better drawn - the vent behind the front wheel will have at its trailing edge a vertical chrome bar with integrated saturn logo - basically mimicing the new grille - and i'm thinking it would be super cool for the logo to double as the front-side turn signal.

so that's it fer now. feel free to rake me over the coals.

I like it, but the roofline is Renault-y. That is, strange, but it might work with a little refinement. Really like the front end though.

Ah, given that picture, I know how to fix that roofline. Smooth it into more of a curve, and then put a 'spoiler' hatch bit to square it up a little. Having it as a curve squared up by the hatch opening would make it look better.

I don't know if that makes sense actually, but maybe you can descipher my rambling.

    Re: Saturn Reactor

it makes sense. its actually my next step. i've all along been planning on making it a hatch (well, originally, i was gonna make two drawings - one hatch one not, but i think i've got enough on my plate as is) but wasn't quite sure how i wanted to execute it.

seeing the astra gtc late yesterday, i got my inspiration. and we really need something stateside with that kind of windshied, too. its just freakin' cool. so i ditched what was going to be another panorami sunroof in its favor.

it´s a good job but the front end is too much like the first Pontiac Sunfire

and finally... an updated Saturn Reactor.

again, think GTO-sized, brawny V-8 powered, nimble handling. and plenty of practicality!

    thanks!

xc & track in college. i've since become something of a marathon runner, with two under my belt (4:45:00ish), as well as 3 half-marathons. in the next calendar year, i've got a marathon and two halfs planned, as well as some much-needed improvement in my speed.

    Re: Saturn Reactor (updated)

I plan on getting involved with (half)/marathons after high school. I've competed in Varsity track and XC all through high school but I don't plan on competing in College. Anyhow its always good to meet a fellow runner!
