    SAAB Sonett by Atomicshark

GM is being parted out and in an ironic twist, sells SAAB to Fiat. Utilizing design and engineering expertise from Ferrari and Alfa Romeo, SAAB introduces it's small new 2-seat Sonett sports car. With a price of under $40,000 it is an affordable exotic.

It's SAAB's flagship sports coupe infused with Alfa and Ferrari genes.

Not too sporty at all. It's more like a Lotus Elise than a supercar.

    Oh, well. Can't please everyone.

The problem is.... it looks like a Countach.
Not that that it's a bad thing... i just don't htink it fits with Saab's personality.

I thought that is where you were going with what you said.

It is more like an Elise than a Countach. In size and in spirit. I wanted to give it a sleeker windshield, which does give it a too sporty look I suppose.

In the spirit of Elise, but with Italian breeding.

Remember, the Sonett was not the usual SAAB, even when it was new:

Well.. I can see the Elise-type idea. (It's sitll looks like a Countach though.)

Well... I guess if Sonnett is really to be revived this auto show season, we'll see how Lutz and company interpret the Saab design philosophy for a roadaster... that's apparently not on Kappa.

What made this contest difficult and unique was the fact that we had to come up with cars from an acquired GM, not the current regime.

Separate from my entry and design intent:

Why not? SAAB needs some unique sparkle. A hot 2 seat sport coupe is what the doctor ordered. A halo car to bring in the traffic

Obviously rebadged wagons, SUVs, and decent but not exciting sedans and wagons aren't doing much for SAAB right now.

SAAB also needs to give us the 9-3 hatchback coupe again. I loved that car.

What needs to happen is that Saab needs to quit "playing it safe" and using GM's crappy corporate HVAC and radio systems. It might look nice in a Chevy and quaint in a Buick. but it has no place in a Saab (or Cadillac).

Second... a 2 seat roadster woudl be nice for Saab. But roadsters aren't high volume. So, I'm not sure what it would do for Saab. But it's definitely a nice thing.

And exciting interiors like the one in the 9-3X....

I agree. SAAB's need to have their own distinct look throughout.

A 2 seat coupe and/or roadster would give SAAB buzzworthiness. It would bring interest and traffic to it's dealerships.

It will allow people who would normally just go to BMW, Mercedes or Lexus and Infiniti to actually see SAAB's other offerings as well. Maybe even buy one.

I like your idea here but this one seems a lot less polished than your other entry. Not on par with the Caddy.

P.S. It reminds me most of a Koenigsegg

Very nice!! The only thing I have a complaint about is the nose. It looks a little stubby
