    Saab 9-9S

Re-grilled(re-badged) version of the Buick Century I have posted. I have changed few things, but aside from the grille, you won't find much difference.

    Hope you like it.

    Re: Saab 9-9S

This one isn't any better, but at least, in my opinion, this looks a bit more like a Saab than the rebadge of my Buick Century. This does not look anywhere near the real Saab nor it feels European, but I tried. It still has number of problems and proportion is off, but I hope you like this revision.

Yet another revision. At least with this one, it LOOKS a bit like a Saab.

Have you left the house since the 80's?

    Sorry, but that was funny.
IF It's A Chevrolet & RWD, Don't ride in it!!!

ALL Chevy's NEED to be FWD/F-AWD!!!

    If it's a Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Don't ride in/drive it!!

I suppose its always been the nose that has drawn me away from this, but I did look back at a couple of your other ones and they have the same issues.

Look at your A pillars across the top of winshield. They do not line up side to side. One A pillar (the rear one) will always have more rake than the front one. You need to either straighten up the rear one, or rake the front one more, I would say usually change the front one more.

    Re: Saab 9-9S

Well, I don't usually draw European Marquee, not that my American make drawings are any better, but I find the European make a lot more challenging to make it look right. I only drew Saab since I cannot enter more than 1 of the brand that I am more comfortable with(not that they are anything to sing about, but), and the 2nd choice of mine of the brand isn't eligible, and I suck even more in drawing anything truck, so.... I am trying to heighten the front ends on my recent drawings, it's not perfected yet, however, and trying my hard to make them look unique and different that the craps I've been drawing. I do have the unfinished rework of this, which I have kinda burrowed from the design(well, photoshop crop) found on the Revitalization thing in GMI for Saab's 9-9, that I haven't had chance to draw in the wheels yet, and to smooth it and clean it out yet, but, I am going to keep on working until it looks decent. I still have until the 30th right? so....

    Thanx.

    Re: Saab 9-9S

Draw the profile first and work out the design cues THEN draw your 3/4 views. Don't worry about wheel details, work on the body lines and window graphics.

    Re: Saab 9-9S

Here is that re-work. I did try to draw the front profile drawing, but it really came out awful and funny, I didn't bother scan it. This one I have burrowed a lot from the photoshopped pic of the 9-9x from the GMI's Revitalization page of Saab. I tried to lift up the front end as much as I could, and I tried to make it look modern. Don't know if it worked. You will see that the wheel still isn't finished, but what the heck. I will just finish that, re-scan it and use that instead for the entry, if this gets any positive feedbacks.

    Thanx.

    Grandprix,
Do side profiles to develop your design language or design cues. Do these over and over and over till you get a nice looking proportional car then draw up your 3/4 view following your profile sketch.

    Re: Saab 9-9S

Thanx TorRed. I think that helped a lot. I tried it here, though it isn't any better, but I think it came out a bit cleaner using that as a template. I still need to work more on the proportion, learn some shading, and all, but I think this came out OK.
