Race on Sunday, drive on Monday...

Here's the idea. A car that's barely street legal, big tires for big grip and a big engine for big speed. Get back to the good ol' days of NASCAR, make the cars on the track actually available in the showroom, force companies build 500 or so for homologation purposes. Enter this Buick and win many races.

I drew inspiration from mainly racing cars, especially those based on more pedestrian models, which generally have bigger flares and look steroid injected. Older Porsche 911 Turbos inspired the especially big flare at back. Vent just aft the rear door is for brake cooling.

A great idea. Were you thinking of the new Series starting at local tracks, or using the more established ones?

Well, I can't think of any established touring car championship in this country, so a new series starting at local tracks would be ideal. What I remember of old NASCAR resembles what I'm thinking of, but the current version no longer even resembles the production cars, so the upheaval would be a mess.

Oh, and here's a new version, quite different. I like it much more.

    The second one looks great....

I think you're right about starting at local tracks, then going after TV and all the rest. The trick will be getting the manufacturers to play ball...

I like the 2nd one. The front is really good.

Lose the stuff immediately behind the door.

Done, see first post. The brake cooling vent is more subdued now, and I like the effect better. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thats a pretty nice drawing, the lines flow very nicely on the car.
