how about we pick a GM car we dont like and make it better?

OR we could have an alternative power contest.
    OR our ultimate dream car
or if you really want to get wild, we could have a bus contest

New CSV. Everyone seems to think GM can do a better job designing a new mini-van. Let's see what people come up with. I hope it wasn't already done.

Bus contest sounds very cool. Might be too challenging for some, photoshopping would be difficult too.

    Retro-Time Machine

The years 1967-1973 are often seen as 'golden age' of muscle car design.

Your assignment is to take a GM passenger vehicle that was first produced in the year 2005 or newer, and 'retro' it back to the 1967-1973 time period.

Some of the major styling cues of the period might include: chrome bumpers, whitewall tires, chrome-reverse rims with 'baby moon' hubcaps, vinyl roof overlays, and round headlights.

Some potential candidates: Pontiac G-6 and Solstice, Chevy Cobalt, Buick LaCrosse and Lucerne

The Camaro's out, the GTO's dead, and GM's in need! How about a Chevelle/Nova/Nomad/Fiero/GTO/Monte Carlo/Corvette/Camaro/Firebird/etc... contest?!

Opel/Vauxhall contest. Designing a car or making a whole new design language to improve Opel's image in Europe. Americans that don't know Opel (and I believe GM fans know Opel ) can google info about current line-up or its history - researching should be a part of design contest as well.

The bus and truck design would be very interesting, I am already working on that idea right now, heavy trucks, busses, etc.

Muscle cars are always fun, (ie Chevelle post )...certianly can do alot more in this direction too. Corvette's, V-series Caddy's, Pontiac GTO's, ...I like the retro idea too.

Future cars can be imaginative concepts, 2010-2020 era models !

...or how about a "George Barris/Chip Foose" type customizing job on current designs ?

Also I think the "import fighter" concept would be highly relevant right now to GM design for RWD/FWD/AWD platforms.

Even though I don't participate in the contests here are a few ideas

FireBird/Trans Am (with the Camaro concept this year alot of people want a Firebird

Cadillac Flagship (if Caddy's going to try to compete with BMW and MB they need a flagship)

General Motors: THe Next Generation (design the next generation of your favorite GM vehicle that is currenty on sale)

What if GM made sport bikes, Pontiac Vs. Honda, Chevy Vs. Suzuki.

I was thinking a new midsize 4 door RWD platform for GM, so it could be a design for any of the companies under GM.

However it would need to be a sporty 4 door aimed for entry level. Like if they decided to drop the Malibu and Impalla and make a couple of RWD sedans, one Malibu sized but truly sporty, and one Impalla Sized but also sporty, and both based off the same platform.

heck, i think we should design the next sales leader to take the crown away from the camry, along with, perhaps, a platform mate or two.

but midsized sedans don't really tend to elicit much design passion, so nobody else'll prolly want to play.

well that is where there needs to be more passion.
