    We do.

Actually, GM could have done it (approximately) quite easy via one of their partnerships

I would ditch the fog lights. Otherwise, it's awesome!

That's a nice replacement for the G3/G5! Well done as usual.

Outstanding job! I love the quality of your drawings, and I love the use of that indigo pencil (it's called that isn't it). I could never get used to those types of drawings as I was a detail oriented guy, so I do more custom work than full original designs. How do you draw wheels so perfectly? Do you use a stencil? or is it just lots of practice?

x2 Looks wicked. Something Pontiac needs also. It looks a lot like that Saab 1X? concept car only better.

Other than the proportion of the front spoke on the front wheel it looks great!

now THAT is what I am talking about! It looks like the front has been made a little longer, the wheels a little larger, and almost like the entire beltline has been moved down for a more sporty look. This definately makes for an excellent MINI competitor!

Why are so many people obsessed with "MINI competitor"? There is no MINI competitor, MINI sells because it's a MINI, you can't possibly compete at that. Having said, which, this would sell really well in North America's drab subcompact market, and I believe it would also be a hit in Europe (sort of Alfa MiTo competitor, if you want a comparo).

As soon as somebody can create a vehicle that is as fun to drive as a MINI, has style, and is in that size bracket, then a competitor is created. The U.S. market truly has no MINI competitor, hence, my purchase of a MINI. Had there been something American, or hell, had even SAAB offered something along the lines of a MINI, I would have purchased that rather than what I have now.

People are so obsessed with the idea of one because it is a successful segment, that we currently only have one option in.

Well, MINI only sells some 100-200K units worldwide, if memory serves me well, so even a competitor successful enough to take away 1/2 of that would be a fairly limited. Anyhoo, the MINI is not really ALL THAT, with all due respect. My experience with it is that it is plasticky, uncomfortable and pretty much a show-off car. But it is a MINI and I can't deny it I fall for it every time.

Here in the states, I would call it anything but a showoff car. Most put it into the realms of a Cavalier/Cobalt. Almost every person that I have let drive the car has been extremely impressed with it. Again, the whole mentality that it is a cheap vehicle. I won't say that the earler ('02-'04) models do have some areas where they could definately be considered plasticky, hell, the thing that pisses me off the most about mine is BMW's attitude that most parts on it are "throw away" as in if you don't break it taking it off, most of the time it isn't usable again any way.

I think that the ride quality/comfort of driving the vehicle is dependant on what the driver finds comfortable. I prefer a rather stiff suspension so that I can feel the road and may be tipped off if there are any problems, while others feel that a quality ride or comfort relates to how floaty the vehicle feels.

Have you driven the R56 MINIs? I feel that they have fixed a lot of the shortcomings of the R50/53 models, however, I can't say that the exterior design is a whole lot better, I honestly prefer the interior of the R56 and the exterior of the R50/53 models.

I have a feeling that if MINI had a bigger dealer network in the states, they would be selling quite a few more units. A lot of people don't consider them because dealerships are hundreds of miles away, and if they need or want to take advantage of warranty work, they don't want to travel that distance.

Any way, I guess I stop now, I shouldn't really be hijacking the thread like this!
