    Pontiac Tempest G4

Here is my interpretation of what a Tempest might look like today. I see it fitting in as a small sport performance sedan (coupe to follow). I wouldn't necessarily label it "entry-level", as that tends to invoke cheapness into the minds of consumers. I included some new accents I've been thinking about, such as the vanes coming from under the badge (reminiscent of early Tempests) and the honeycomb grill that wraps around the headlamps. Anyway, this is a simple side view that I whipped up. I have a front view on the workbench. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

    I like it a lot.

The front to the rear wheel is hot.

The rear where the taillight is shown looks a bit bulbous, like it does not belong with the rest of such a sharp car. The rear bumper looks good.

hmm... I think I see what you mean. That must be what the little voice in my head was talking about when it said "something just doesn't look right, man."

nice, but i'm not too wild about the grile idea. imo they should stop at the edge (at the side of the car) of the headlights. i always liked the 'veins', as you put it, that pontiacs had. today i saw a 'new' bonneville that DIDNT have them, anywhere, none on the taillights, none on the bumper, none anywhere. any idea what that was about?

What a sweet little ride! It has a nice stance, a cool design, and it is something that pontiac needs: A compact! Once again, great idea, and great execution!

Holy man! That's a nice little design! The cabin seems quite small, but it makes a very nice little personal 2+2 sedan. You put some nice details in that!

That's not too shabby, but I don't see how the Tempest and GTO could be different cars since the GTO was an option package for the Tempest.

way too high of a roofline and the rear wheel well is lower than the front. Like the look though....if it had a stock 2.4L ecotec as the base engine, maybe pontiac could claim to be performance oriented again. lol

I like it alot! Though I'd love to see it as a coupe as well... when you have the time, think you could pop a coupe up in here as well?

Also, thought about the taillight: it looks to Mercades-Benz to me. How about the 3 or 4 horizontal bar-styled taillights seen on some of the older Pontiacs? Somewhat like this:

Thanks for all the comments so far! Now to address some of the issues...

Maybe I'm just ignorant when it comes to Lexus, but I don't see it... sorry.
But I am considering an alternate front.

The GTO became its own car in 1966.

LOL... funny that you mention the wheel wells since they are carried over from the donor (tires included). So whatever the issue is there, it was done by the original brand. I'll take another look at the roofline, but it seemed fine to me at the time.

A coupe is on the way. Perhaps a wagon? Tempest had a wagon once upon a time. Hmm.... naaaah. I'll give some thought to a "throwback" taillight. It might work nice with the side vanes.

I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a compliment or a burn. lol

BTW, if anyone is selling a 1963 Tempest V8 coupe.... I'm interested.
