My Version of Oldsmobile Reborn *rear view added*

I started this back when I was doing one of my pontiac sketches. I finally decided that I should finish it tonight. I hope that it shows up alright, I think my scanner is kind of screwing up...

I'm not sure what model it would be, however, I have taken some cues from a 1967 Cutlass Supreme, (which the second gen. Aurora also borrows from)

    Hope you all like it.

Strange, but interesting. Like many Olds designs!

I've tried a dozen ways to concoct a "what if" lineup of Oldsmobiles, but no matter how I tried, each product I conjured in my mind either overlapped an existing product, or would have sold exponentially better as a Chevrolet...

    Good job, chaseypoo...

Wicked. I really think "Oldsmobile" when I look at it. Those "gills" are a nice touch. Good job!

I also very much like those "gills" and how they all line up into a cohesive pattern.....have you created a rear view of the car?

    awww... fanks wexy...

I doubt that a model such as this could be built without overlapping something in the GM lineup. If Oldsmobile were to be brough back, at least one division would have to be killed to enable its re-introduction. I will say though, that Oldsmobile does have a lot of potential design-wise.

Thank you, I do take it as a compliment. When designing this, I definately was going for a few exaggerated features, especially with the fins of the grill.

Again, Thanks! There was another oldsmobile I was inspired by, the 1970 Cutlass Supreme convertible (see picture) as well as the fins on the 1969 Cutlass Supreme's grill. What I really like doing in designs is having a sense of continuation, where, like in this example, the fins of the grill continue "through" the portion of the bumper that separates the upper grill from the lower grill.

I did begin a rear view, I think that I can get it done by this evening.

Except if that were to ever to happen, we would hope that it actually hit production... *cough* aero-x *cough*

That is one slick car! I wish I could draw half as good as you do... and I really mean that. You and torred (or what ever it is now) have a monopoly on most of the artistic talent here...

Not sure whose handiwork this is, but it came from the talent here at GMI or over at, erm, C&G (are we allowed to mention them on here?), or possibly someone like Mr Burns who frequents both.

Ostensibly suggested as a Saturn, I think it's one helluva retro Cutlass Supreme! Very well-executed. Completely modern, yet clues to the old model are instantly recognisable...

Whoever did this, I'd like to know, so I can properly reference your talent!

Wow, that is definately an honor, being mentioned in the same breath as torRed! I do urge though, don't forget about mrburns! I know we haven't seen much of his drawings lately, however, he is definately heads and shoulders above my stuff!

But again, thank you very much!

Totonado came to mind but ya, I see the late '60s Cutlass Supreme (And Chevelle and GTO) in it too. My sister's b/f's dad had a '69 442 for a while. It's also very New Camaro in the front, I supose that was part of the deal, its Saturn/Olds' Pony car.

That would certainly make a great Aurora resurrection. I've always thought killing Oldsmobile was a stupid idea and a terrible mistake GM made. It will be brilliant to resurrect Oldsmobile with that stunning set of wheels to get the lost customers back into their showrooms.

Very nice work. I love it.

Take notes...you're capable of something like the red Olds that is pictured, you're just not doing it yet. Your green houses need better proportioning and your front ends and hoods are also out of whack, but you're getting better there. Try some Olds resurrections, they looked nothing like Pontiacs, for the most part.
