    My Transformers Silverado - Revisited

Hello folks. I doubt anyone remembers my Transformers Silverado from way back (probably about a year ago), but I redesigned it a little:

Compared to the previous design, this one has some major upgrades underneath, and is also based off of the 2011 Silverado HD, rather than the 2007 model.

I could care less about IFS/SFA argument going on nowadays, because either one can be made to be more capable than the other (the 2011 Silverado being proof). But, I decided to go with SFA with this new design because I thought it would fit well with the Dana S110 axle in the rear. I decided to use Dodge Ram tow mirror design because I think the double-armed design is too overused nowadays. I think Dodge is the only full-size truck maker without those mirrors.

I hope this truck makes some of the HD truck fans and owners a little happy.

Photobucket seems very popular, so I may rely on that for image hosting. Here is the original design I drew for my Transformer:

It is not THE original custom Silverado design I created. I'll scan the older drawing and show it hear sometime.

Wow... your rendering abilities always amaze me...

I'd have to say that the rear view is my favorite, and I agree on your mirror statement, the single arm works much more nicely than the double arm variants.

    Again, fantastic job!

All it needs is a set of truck nuts.

I remain impressed how much detail exists for a drawing...especially (or specifically) the undercarriage.

That would look awesome if it had a Moran Chevrolet license plate frame on it. Good job!

Thank you everyone for your kind words!

All it needs is a set of truck nuts.
LOL. Truck nuts have got to be the funniest thing I've ever seen on trucks, besides the "Peeing Calvin" stickers!

There's nothing more that I can add to what's been said. Both versions are awesome. Amazing detail!

Thanks! Are you refering to the exhaust tips on the older design? If so, yeah, I guess it looks like the Ford. I thought having two outlets would look better.

The exhaust tips on my newer design has double openings on each side, so basically a quad exhaust setup. I don't know if that can work with a diesel, but I have seen Swedish built Scania commercial trucks oftern customized with four exhaust openings on each side!

    Looks great, but...

...aren't Autobots just a little more suttle in vehicle form?

A note to all design contest participants - if I pound you with penalties or point out that you can't enter one of your designs, please do not think that this is a personal bash on you as a designer. I am merely enforcing the rules that I have set down.

This truck may be as subtle as Optimus Prime's Peterbilt, or even Bumblebee. Both those vehicles stick out very well from the crowd. This truck may, too, but I think it is still understated in its looks compared to other custom trucks out there. I just wanted to try out some things to make this truck unique, and even stand out as a Chevrolet vehicle by using retro design cues (such as the tailgate, in which I got inspiration from the 1966 C10 pickup).

The truck drawing itself is also part of a custom truck design project that I had started two years ago, but gradually became a Transformers design project because I wanted to practice conceptual art for a movie or video game.
