I just joined this forum and I know people have posted about this a billion times, but heres my version iv'e been working on for the last 7 months! I have no instructor for the clay modeling so take that into consideration!

Now thats something new. So much easier to make something out of clay then try to model it in a 3d program! Im gunna try that.... WAIT I KNOW.! make a design in clay then you can easily make sketches and concept drawings because youll have a perfect way to get the proportions right.. GREAT IDEA stang023.

2005stang032: I just bought a bunch of clay but it feels too soft for me to make detail. What type of clay did you use to make that model??? I got a basic shape down but it seems too soft to make the detail pieces like the grill and tail section, though maybe I dont have the right tools.... I bought LAGUNA MODELING CLAY

    Re: My New Camaro Design

Hey Bvonscott I used the stuff that the Auto companies use for real models, its J525 Modeling Clay by Chavant. You heat it to a max temp of 145 degrees F to get it soft. As it cools it gets harder and sculptable . If you are really interested i could get you the number of the distributer I bought from! The clay comes in 2 pound blocks and is about three dollars per block. You have to decide what scale you want to make it on! My 1/6th scale has used probably 6-8 blocks! And the model is not pure clay the clay is applied to a styrofoam core!

    Re: My New Camaro Design

Thats very good, for a first gen.
As for a 5th gen, very poor design.
This is a genral rant...has anyone heard about aerodynamics? What happend to sleek and stylish? When did that go out of style? When did brick-like front ends come into play?
Very good talent, and you are good with the clay, but the design is where the fault is. Looks exactly like a first gen.
To show off your true talent, try coming up with something new yet stay within the Camaro frame of mind.

    Re: My New Camaro Design

The choices for design was either reflect the AWESOME 60's cars or take the last generation and turn it into a RX8!
