my hack at the Chevrolet Astro *shaded*

i tried redoing the astro for the previous design contest, and apparently, failed misrebly. So im trying again. This time i want the design to be recognizable as an Astro, but modern.

Btw, its a preliminary sketch, so if you have any reccommendations for change, nows the time

It's OK with me generally, but I would try to do without the ascending/curvaceous beltline this time. Also the nose seems unnecessarily long - the original Astro had a shorter one, and it made it look very handsome

I don't think it's bad at all, but I don't get any kind of old-Astro vibe from it.

Get rid of the Bar going across the headlights. Chevy has stopped doing that.

It looks more like a Blazer to me, than an Astro.

Very nice. I like that it looks like something that could share a platform with another Chevy truck.

Thats cool. I like the very open looking front end. Looks a little GMT-900 to me. I don't know about an Astro, but maybe a competitor to the R-Class, more of a sports tourer. Good job.

Re: my hack at the Chevrolet Astro

i wanted it to be based on the GMT900 platform. The nose is a bit longer for safety reasons (i dont think the original astro did so well in frontal crash tests) and to accomodate a larger engine. I'll get rid of the ascending curvacious beltline and ill make the front more in line with chevy's current lineup.

    and ill shade it.

wow, nice shading, i agree with everyone who said very GMT900ish. this seems like it would be more of a 'van' and less of a 'minivan' to me, is it?
