(Modified re ABCNews pics)Is this the real VOLT?

EDIT: I've modified the pic based upon the new ABCNews pics.....

I was comparing the Chevy Cruze to the Volt aero 3D model and noticed that the proportions were near the same including door positioning, which is not strange as they are both to be built on the same chassis and both even share the same ICE engine and FWD/engine bay structure.

So here is my chop of the Chevy Volt by putting all we know onto the Cruze....

EDIT:This is my updated profile chop based on new info like the door shut-lines being angled forward like the concept, and the squared plain rear from the recent GM leaks, although my thicker lights seem to be just like the new pic. I also did some work on the A pillar and lights.

But the big unknown is still the whole side look and what they replaced the lower glass sections on the doors with. The interior mock-ups show the lower door windows are gone, but are they now plain paint as I have shown, or maybe they will be painted black or another color?

Thumbs up Re: Is this the real VOLT?

Your chop is much better looking than any of the photos of the Cruze I've seen!

    Certainly not a Volt.

I think the windsheild needs to be raked a bit more, and the trunk needs to be rounded off a bit.

If the Volt is built on the same platform as the Cruze, the windshield will have the same rake.

So you're saying that the Cruze could be a Volt without E-Flex?
Interesting. Not a bad idea either.

There is no "could be" about it; the Volt and Cruze both are based around the Delta II architecture, making them related vehicles. You could look at the Cruze as a being rebodied a Volt, sans E-Flex.

Interesting theory, MonaroSS. It's plausable that you may be onto something here. Then again, maybe not.
IF It's A Chevrolet & RWD, Don't ride in it!!!

ALL Chevy's NEED to be FWD/F-AWD!!!

    If it's a Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Don't ride in/drive it!!

I'm down with the idea of using Cruze spy shots, but if we were to assume the Cruze was a SWB variant, and the Volt was a LWB variant of Delta II, That would solve the 3-meter-snout-problem and allow for some windshield and hind-quarter growth. I have no skills, but if you were to apply these ideas to your previous idea??

Looks good to me. Perhaps a BIT too sedan-ish, but it's the best thing I have seen so far. Nice work.
