    Impala Refresh RENDERED

RENDERED! My first rendering using photoshop..found a tutorial on how to draw your own design, then brush it to look realistic..not the greatest execution ever but hey im workin on it. You might have to look close to see the different shades of black under the headlight, or sides of the grill, or the area with the fog light.

    Heres the original

    My version

Well I've been inspired, mainly by the new pics of the G6's freshened up front end. The Impala is a nice car, just bland. So, make it nicer. I did some quick sketches/ideas i had while in class. Basically I dd the same as the G6..NOTHING is changed except for the front fascia piece. Had thought about changing the hood too but didnt. If anyone else has idea's draw em up and post them...I'll try and get a few nicer ideas up here

A nice start by you..... I definitely believe the Impala has many years of market value ahead. And the SS is overdue for some excitement.

I would love to see the Impala return to the trademark triple tail lights of the past.
Even a triple tail light behind a one piece clear unit would be nice

Huge front ends are one of my pet peeves with new cars. They're so dorky.

Congrats, Muscle! You've just done what every GM designer never had the guts to do! You moved the emblem from the grille...onto the crossbar! Such a daring move!

It's so simple how much better the front end looks when the emblem is moved down a few inches. Great execution!

haha agree'd, thats the one thing i wasnt happy with this sketch, it wasnt supposed to come out that big. I'm taking an 8 hour ride down to north carolina this weekend hopefully ill get something done in the car if i'm not driving.

And thank you AJ, but your right, somethign so simple, yet really over looked. Personally i think alot of the cross bars AND embems should be moved just a few inches, mainly on the cruze, traverse, maybe the Malibu

Nice, and I agree with the bowtie placement as well. It really looks better placed on the bar. Chevy does some awkward things sometimes...

The grille does seem a little too big (but it also feels the right size...), maybe if the bar's a little thicker. That would require a much bigger bowtie though.

I think that the grill is a little too square, however, I do like the stronger front end compared to the fairly weak one that is on the current model. I think that the design would definately benefit from a larger bar and logo. The grille is pretty much in your face, why not let everybody know that you are driving a chevy too.

I agree and have felt that way for years....that was a design theme they OWNED. Plus I wish that Buick would re-embrace a thin strip tail light spanning the whole back end as in the 60's...they owned that too, just as Cadillac "owns" tail fins. Could be a great way for GM to once again have DISTINCTIVE looking cars from each division. The current roughly triangular tail light on the Impala mirrors those by Ford, Honda, you name it.......6 circular tail lights scream "IMPALA!".

    Re: Impala Refresh RENDERED

The chop is far too tame - what I saw in the drawing was an all-new front end, much taller and more "square" grille, projector (like) headlamps, new bonnet/hood, mesh on the grille...
