    grand finale!

hey. i'm done with it. yippee. look down.

so i'm working on a pair of grand nationals, otally unrelated to each other.

    the first:

    and the second:

so right now, i'm trying to get them both vectored, to play around with some layers, shading, and quick-turn-around mods without burning thru my erasers.

GN1 started life as a side view of a solstice that i fudged around with. i can tell you right now that i need to stuff some extra wheelbase behind the door, as its looking a little too stubby right now, and a bit too reminiscent of a 928. especially the wing, which i kinda just tossed on there cos i didnt like my decklid

GN2 actually started life as a lacrosse, which i basically just used for proportions, and the basis for the headlights. you can kinda see where i'm going with it from teh sketch lines. hopefully i can pull it off... i think the first thing i'll do is make the wheels bigger and more concept-like.

comments? suggestions? dare i say, criticisms?

    Re: a grand pair

I like the second one better, I think it fits being called a Grand National a little better than the first one. The first one is really coming along, it's a great drawing and you have a lot of skill. I just feel the second one has more potential so to say as being something that could be built as a GN. Finish em both up and let us see them when you're done.

    nice job...

first one is great... but I see lots of mercedes in it... front is fantastic... rear is sort of weird for a Buick coupe

I really like it. I'm just anxious to see how the rest of the details in the wheels, grille, headlights and such will turn out . Your desgin is aggressive and yet Buick still. Good job!

Both look really good. The angle on the portholes for No. 2 look off, but otherwise very promising.

and so... a progress report on my shading efforts.
also some info as to my intentions on the grille. i have no confidence yet in my ability to draw up some wheels, but we'll see how that comes along.

it ain't easy finding time for this - stupid work!
