    Gmc Beat

    This is the GMC Beat,

It is a small 5 seat city vehicle. With either FWD or AWD and a 1.5L turbo diesel (hybrid optional)engine with 150 hp and up to 300 ft lbs of torque. The FWD version would start under 15k and the fully loaded AWD hybrid about 25k. Towing capacity is 2000 lbs.

    Ooo...I see.

Aerodynamics might be a problem with the front end...

Meant to be a city car, cheap, small good mileage. Not made to be a freeway cruiser.

BTW, it would have a smaller frontal area than a full size truck and many SUV's and there are no flat surfaces to the front end. the grill opening is rounded all the way around. the sides flow back towards the front wheels. It probably would have decent aerodynamics.

That looks really good, I think GMC should make a small crossover (not the Terrain) but something along the lines of the HHR.

    Re: Gmc Beat

Thanks for the comments. Well, I wanted to design it to be a city car. Small roomy and cool looking. This is not something for a farmer or a construction worker. Maybe a college student.

With light weight and a turbo diesel hybrid, 50 mpg city should be easy.

However I was also thinking another variation could be done with little modification to the original, such as removing the top, lifting it and putting some more aggressive tires on it, it could be a jeep alternative.
