    Firebird1324's Progress...

well, i was browsing through all the pics i have stored in my folder, and had to laugh at myself at what i used to think was "my best piece of artwork yet"
so i thought i'd share some of my laughs with you as i show some of my "progress" i've made since i joined here at GMI, i think it starts when i was in late 9th grade?
As you all have probably noticed a long time ago, i'm a lefty. =D
oh well, here's to some good laughs...

One of my first drawings for my first contest at GMI

I was so proud of this one, I decided i can't get any better than this.

Lusting after torreds skills, i decided to try one of his angles...the one all of you fell in love with. (ha.)

My "futuristic" GTO...which i though very highly of because it looked so..."futuristic"

Ooo! New Elipse set! (but only one angle...sigh) Still, this was getting pretty advanced for me.

I drew this one in colorado...i still think this is some of my best work, =)

Back to the angle we all love, i came up with this little diddy for the supercar contest.

I fell in love with this one, i gave the original to my uncle for his b-day.

Me in my zone with "the angle"

"that's it jake, you've outdone yourself with this one...this is as good as you'll get" I thought i had reached my prime, by far better than anything i had ever done, i thought to myself.

and now to current days, i've finally decided to go out side my little box, and experiment.

that evolving into this, random ideas that come into mind during school...trying my hardest to put it into a decent new perspective.

so yeah, if anyone made it this far...srry if it bored you to death, i know it seemd like i was sharing my family album pictures with you...but hell, i was bored and thought i'd bring up some old memories with you guys.

Feel free to post some of your old work, it's worth the laugh.

whoa, i was just thinking about that, cuz i noticed that all of your drawings are facing the right (most of mine face left and i'm a righty). my favorite one is the supercar.

Nice improvement, all of you. Well, I can't draw for ***** although I think that once you get the hang of it, it's easier than chops. (Just a guess) I think it would be a bit easier to draw out what you want than try to chop it on a computer.

    Re: Firebird1324's Progress...

I would post mine... but h3ll, that'd take to long, I've probably drawing 5,000 or more in the past 10 years, lmao. And 90% of them seem to disappear. Oh well.

And I still need to do alotta work on my perspective, as I'd become so accustom to drawing profile that it's hard to draw at various angles.

Anyway, nice evo you guys! You all have progressed a ton. *thumbs up*

    Re: Firebird1324's Progress...

My first concept (but not first car drawing...I drew cars in high school)...this was from sometime in 2004

This one was done sometime in mid 2005 I think...I started getting better with rendering my drawings in Photoshop

This is my most recent work, done back in January or early February.

    Peugeot_206,

I hate to say this, but I think your March and May drawings are better than your current ones. In your current ones you are focusing on shading and perspective, but most of your current offerings look the same using awkward design characteristics. I get a much better sense of the design of the vehicle from your first 2 drawings (I really like your hummer and Caddy designs, much more than your Pontiac and whatever that last one is.)

It is cool to see everyone's progress (especially Firebird1324, since he started the thread). It makes me want to start drawing again. It's only been five years or so.
