    Dream Alfa/Ferrari Montreal

Just for a little fun I did this Alfa Montreal + Ferrari bits Chop.

I was thinking that if custom car shops in the US can do custom versions of classic 60's and 70's muscle cars with upgraded modern HiPo engines and suspension, what would happen if an Italian enthusiast with a bucket of cash wanted to do likewise to an Italian classic coupe.

Who could go past the Montreal for beautiful coupe lines, but ditch that little 2.5 V8 engine and solid rear axle. What would an Italian replace them with? Why a Ferrari V8 and transaxle rear suspension of course, and upgraded ceramic brakes all ‘round.

The original pic was metallic green and besides the colour change I added several inches stretch between the front wheel and door to make room for the bigger Ferrari V8. I also used Ferrari wheels I snatched from a 70's Ferrari 512 BB. And lowered it.

Re-trim a new modern custom leather interior with classic design cues and this would be a fantastic street machine anyone would love to have in their garage.....

    Your changes are cool.
Was the original picture a die-cast model? Something looks very toy-like here.

I think it's just because the original pic has the car so 'in focus' and the background 'out of focus' gives that look. Plus the bright red contrasting with the green grass adds to the disconnect with the background.

Didn't need to change much, but while I always liked the Montreal I always thought the wheelbase looked a little short. And the wheels were a little under whelming...

    Your Montreal looks great!

How about trying to "build" one based on the Challenger + a four-door version thereof?

When I read the description I thought this could go horribly wrong, as messing with classics often does, but....THAT is very very cool. Well done, it really is an improvement. Not to mention those wheels are a similar design to the O.Z ones I'm hoping to get from a mate for my car when it's built.
