    Contest RULES!

    Hey all you budding artists!

Here's your chance to design a new vehicle.

Entries can be hand drawn, computer designed or photoshopped. You can start from scratch or modify an existing vehicle whether it be from GM or not.

Hand drawn and computer modified images will be voted against seperately. Depending on entries received, further voting categories could be created.

As with the last contest, you can enter a maximum of 2 entries into each category (2 for drawn, and 2 for chopped).

You can still post more than 4 images, but if you do, you MUST narrow it down to 2 in each category before the end date of the contest.

If you have multiple accounts and usernames on GMI, you can only enter a total of 2 entries per person, not per account.

We will accept entries for the next few weeks. (Submissions end midnight, Saturday, March 25th. )

Once all entries are in, new threads will be started showing all the entries.

Then all the members get to vote on their favorite three entries.

To submit an entry, just start a new topic in this thread, and post your image.
(Either by linking to it, or uploading it to our server).

    Design Specifications:

GM has NEVER had a successful minivan. The Astro/Safari "trucks" were not what soccer moms wanted. The "dustbuster" vans were simply too out there. The current "CSVs" miss the mark on so many levels.

Although SUVs have grown in popularity, they Minivan still has its place in the market.

Design a minivan or multi-purpose people mover for GM. It can be from any division. This should be a van that will let people know that GM is serious about this segment.
It is a design competition, but if you need to write a text-based explanation of your concept (to accompany the picture), you are more than welcome.

If you make a thread with multiple version (fixes, etc...) of the same concept, please specify near the end of the contest which is your official entry.

Please do not use ideas, designs or work from previous contests, whether it is your own work or not.

    Good luck!

As usual, if you have any questions, let me know!

does this have to be a realistic design, like a minivan that Chevy desperately needs... or can it be something that would most likely never happen?

    i concurr

---imo, the market for minivans will soon be taken over by the crossovers (FX, RX, Enclave, Outlook, R-Class, etc), why wasn't this a "crossover contest"?

    Enough with the negativity.

If you want to make a crossover vehicle, you can. The contest rules did say "minivan or multi-purpose people mover ".

Less entries makes for a tighter race. There are only so many Camaros and generic coupes we can make. We have to mix it up from time to time.

Minivans are a segment that GM is certainly lacking in product.

i would be in favour of GM ditching the Camaro all together for a truely competitive minivan.

    Re: Contest RULES!

    Yea, seriously.

Every contest can't be a Camaro re-deux. Sheesh.

GM has been getting thier butt handed back to them in a basket in the minivan segment anyways. If any model needed something new it's the current GM minivans.

And making already cool cars even cooler is easy. A good designer can tackle the hard projects like this one....

this one could be hard I think...thats a good thing

PS- here in NZ we have a totally different Honda-Odyssey than in the states,
it has a lower roof line and is wider and much much better looking.
(don't get me wrong, I'm into honda's! but for a people mover this is kinda ok)
I could be totally wrong, tell me if these are in the states...
