    Contest #29: Rex's Birthday

My birthday is coming up next Monday.

So, I have chosen this as the the picture for this week.

Modify it any way that you want. Change colors, looks, background, etc...

The changes can be serious or silly. The changes don't have to make the car more desirable, they just have to make it different.

You are showing off your creativity and your chopping skills.

Try to keep some semblance of the original pic.

Only 1 entry per person, and NO revisions. Once you've entered, that's your entry.

Due to it's popularity, same rules as last week:

Do NOT post your images here in this thread. Instead, E-mail them to: [email protected]. This week's contest will be totally anonymous.
Please do not write your name anywhere in your picture.
In your e-mail (but not your picture) please include your user name.

You have until THURSDAY at Midnight to submit your entries, so there is no need to rush right away. Quality takes time. Voting will start on FRIDAY (instead of Saturday).

    Here's the pic to modify:

    It's no clown car.
It's a Smart Fortwo, made by Mercedes.

You American't just don't get it cuz it's not a gas guzzling SUV.

    Here's my own personal car:

Looks like a fun little car. How many PC's can you fit behind the seats?

I'd hate to be in it if it got hit by an American gas guzzling SUV.

Probably a gas to drive though. (pun intended)

It would make a good Transformer...

Hey Rex, that's a good idea for the next chop contest, huh? Make a GM car like the Saturn Sky into a Transformer!

The Smart has an excellent safety cage designed for impact.

I feel safer in my Smart than I would in in a Firefly or Aveo or other similar car.

Plus the added benefit of 4 airbags, and mercedes crash technology.

Sure, the car would be a write-off, but you'd most probably walk out of it.

I'd really hate to be in ANY car getting hit by an H2 or 'Burb.

    Hey Happy Birthday Rex.

That car looks like a fun car to drive around in, I wonder if there would be any plans to bring it stateside.

There are no plans for '05.
They might release a different model, called the ForFour in '06, but that hasn't been officially announced yet.

    This is the ForFour:

Smart did have a display at Naias, so they are probably testing the waters.

Only the model above (called the ForTwo) is available in Canada.

I can't beleive not one knows about the Smart cars. Even if they are not sold in the U.S. they are extremly well know. They even have them in U.S. car shows and in 2006 they are thinking about bringing them over here.

Even Matchbox has a model of the Smart car.
