    Chevy Silverado SS

Here is my impression of the Silverado SS.

I know the red one is sitting pretty high, but I thought it was low enough when I finished drawing it. It's still pretty high though. I did use a digital camera to take the pictures, so they are off a little in proportion. The silver one was drawn in a dramatic perspective so the front looks narrow.

I didn't try to make the truck low like the 427 concept because I keep getting a ricer vibe out of the 427, plus I used images of past ss trucks as inspiration and reference, so you may notice some parts of the truck that you may have seen elsewhere. Also, I think with the slightly higher stance than other lowered trucks, it gives the truck a hot rod like feel in a way.

If you have suggestions, criticism, I'd like to hear them.

Since school is out for the quarter, I was able to finish this drawing pretty quickly. I'm planning on designing my own HHR design, plus I'm thinking of a Tahoe SS as well.

Edited: Here are two more pictures to show each truck in better detail, sorry I can't scan images right now:

split headlights for the SS model only would be a great idea. It would make it more exlcusive-like. but with special high intense lenses only. great job! espacially the front truck..

    Re: Chevy Silverado SS

Thank you guys. This drawing was like an exercise to practice new techniques, and it may help me with future drawings.

As for the Tahoe SS, it may have similar parts like the Silverado SS, but I'm trying to think of a more unique look for it, but still holding that SS chevy truck presence. It's gonna be a challenge, but since school is out for the month, I have a lot of time to try some designs. I may start on it tomorrow too, along with an HHR design I have been planning.

holy crap that's amazing! You have some serious talent! Did you use pencil for the shading?

designwise it's also amazing, my only complaint is that the grill sits a bit too low and is a bit too narrow, making it look slightly chubby.

    Re: Chevy Silverado SS

Yah, about the front end, I know it does look a bit narrow, but I was trying to draw the truck in a dramatic perspective, and also, it looks narrower because I fattened up the sides of the grille compared to the normal Silvy, and I admit, it does look chubby when I see it .

Also, did you mean the bumper, Mr. Burns, or the grille? If you mean the grille, yeah it is low, and I did that on purpose to make it look more like a chevy and less like a ford. For example, I lowered the bottom of the hood on the grille, because if I aligned it with the headlights, I kept thinking Ford.

    Thanks for the input guys!

Did you use pencil for the shading?
Yeah, I did, mostly on the silver truck. I couldn't really use the silver colored pencil I had because for some reason, that one colored pencil doesn't really give me a good quality result, no matter how much I blend it to make it smooth, so I use Pencil for silver colors. I also use pencil to darken particular areas so the drawing doesn't seem so light and hazy.
