This is not an entry for design contest #1 since it is way too late, but if Chevy built this I think it would have sold well.

Although your chop isn't bad, the idea is unnecessary.
The Monte Carlo is essentially a 2 door Impala.

Of course, but some people like the look of the Impala carried in both styles. The Monte Carlo is not everyones cup of tea to put it mildly.

Excellent chop, but the idea is not very good.. Like Rex said, the Monte Carlo is a 2-door Impala.

that a nice coupe.

But the monte carlo isn't the impala coupe because front end is different and rear end is different. the platform is the same and thats it.

Chevrolet has the Impala and Monte marketed at the same people, Impala is the four door target, and the Monte is the 2-door target!

An Impala coupe would be dumb...

It would not be dumb if the Monte were on a rear wheel drive platform and the Impala Sedan & Coupe remained FWD to battle the Accords and Camrys of the world. The Impala sells very well and I think the 2-door Impala would sell more that the Monte as is right now. If Chevy had the Monte Carlo as it's own specialty RWD coupe than it would be more in the GTO realm and The dual Impala idea would be pure genius (ok maybe just a good idea)! Like Accord sedan & coupe and Camry sedan and coupe etc.
