I like it! It appears semi futuristic. The current look is long in the tooth, the changes you made bring it up to date! Well done!

    Rex, now THAT'S a van!

    A respectable van at that!

    Great job!!

The only thing I would sight that is/would be wrong w/it is that it'd be FWD.

IF It's A Chevrolet & RWD, Don't ride in it!!!

ALL Chevy's NEED to be FWD/F-AWD!!!

    If it's a Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Don't ride in/drive it!!

Only because this contest requests FWD, it is FWD.

    Not for any other reason.

Oh no FWD aaaa we die!

Really, in the advent of electric cars and hybrid drive... Please get yourself a Beetle...

    ANYHOW,

It's a GREAT job, and perhaps this was what I was hoping for when I proposed this contest theme. It's a pity it hasn't got much competition.

Given that it's Nissan NV200-based, it is actually even smaller than the Astro and I would guess about the size of the Vivaro. It would make a great replacement thereof, I'd actually just call it Astro. Too bad you didn't include a passenger version - perhaps extra-contest? Any cool idea for the front end?

Although it has styling elements from the NV200, it is actually based on the RWD current Express Van:

Yes I know, I recognized the photo I really can't, pardon the pun, express my appreciation for your skillful downsizing. I also think a Chevrolet Astro (Express would have branding issues in Europe w/Renault, i. a.) like that would make a perfect replacement for the Vivaro. It would also make more business sense for GM to hold on at least to the LCV operations in Europe under the Chevrolet brand while spinning off most of the GM to the Russki.

Re: Chevy Express2 - Cargo Van

    Rex Raider,

Can you create a consumer version of this van for us to see?
If it is too much trouble, don't worry about, that's fine.

I just really like the design you came up with and I would like to see what it would look like as a regular passenger van to take on vacation or for personal use. I really like the sliding door idea because my Aunt is in a wheelchair and it would make loading and unloading her so much easier in a tight spot. We bought her a Used 1997 Chevy Express with the Regency Package with only 90K and a 350 V8 and it is an Awesome van. Her Express is like a "Miracle" to her because it gives her the Freedom to go places and get out of the nursing home she lives in. We named it "The Brenda Express" which is named similar to "The Polar Express."

Hopefully GM sees this design for the next gen Express! Great Job!

I need this van. Please let chevy know they need to make this. There are no mid size vans available on the market right now, and if you work in the city you need one. FWD is fine as long as that means serious cargo space improvement. We are dying for vans that can haul big volume with low roofs, and the last van that did it for me was the VW eurovan, which was a piece of **** but it carried everything i need and could always fit a little bit more. I downsized to an Astro and ive reduced my volume to about 60% of what it was in the eurovan and its RAMMED.
    Chevy Express 2?

IMHO the intermediate size van NEEDS to be FWD to be competitive with the OTHER offerings globally and for a cargo vehicle FWD is a GOOD thing as less under the floor = a LOWER floor height that = more interior cargo room and economy is more important then "hooking up" for 1/4 mile times EX when we are talking a 4 CYL vehicle MAYBE V6
