    Chevy Commander Retro Concept Truck

    While we wait for the next contest, and after seeing that "mean" Avelanche from the other new guy...here's someting I was playing with to get a handle on this chop thing.

    Any pointers you can offer will be appreciated, I have not done much of this type of chopping work at all. I would not enter this in a contest, as it is a bit over the top in concept, but I call it the Chevy Commander Retro Concept Truck;

    It's wild though, huh ?...you can see were the chop is, how do you smooth out the rest of the body to match ?

    i wouldn't really call that "retro", it's more "old with modern elements". i like what you did with the tahoe's headlights though, that'd look good on future models.

    Yeah, the headlights look awesome. Great job. The only way to smooth out the body that I can think of that would look realistic would be to brush it. I don't know if you have enough experience with photoshop yet to make it work right because even I can't do it right and I've been doing photoshop for over a year now. I definately advise on NOT using just the blur tool alone to smooth out the body. Here is a tutorial for brushing if you are interested: http://digimods.e-visionit.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=6315

    It needs to have more modern touches; most is just an ols chevy. That being said, it's pretty go for someone who is relativly inexperienced.

    Uh... Well, that is different, I'll give ya' that.

    May I suggest making your chop SSR or Cheyenne Concept based? Afterall, those trucks had more than their share of retro cues baked in.
