Im not sure anyone would bother attempting that. Changing a yellow car with heaps of matte black to a shiny metallic silver colour isn't as simple as it may seem. It's far more annoying. Be easier to use different pics and change wheels etc. to suit.
Heres a couple I did using alternate images. You are quite right in your statement because the red cars are easier to manipulate being metallic/pearl and being 1 tone. If you attempt it yourself you should be careful to chose lighter images rather than dark contrasting images of the red cars as the silver change most likely won't come out right.

If you want me to change them somehow just reply mate.
Man, I need a tutorial on stripes.
Those are brilliant! I’d love to buy a Photoshop program but it seems the best ones are hundreds of dollars. There is one thing I’d like to see added to the rear end of the car though. Just a black stripe on the trunk like the Daytona Charger. Other than that it’s perfect.
My friend suggested that the colors should be reversed but I don’t know how that would look. He said the car should be black with a Red and Silver line on the bottom with a Chrome Grille. I can somewhat picture that in my mine but this one still seems better.
