    Exclamation Camaro entry not used

i made this for the weekly contest (camaro) but i ended up making another that i liked a lot more. here's the one i didn't submit:

i designed this to be an evolution of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen models, instead of a reto 1st gen camaro.

comments/suggstions welcome (even though i won't be working on this any more)

    -camaroman22

    :EDIT:
even though i didn't use it, i still think it's a sick design, so i have complimented it with a mini-me in my avatar.

how dare you hatchback it...that's like committing a cardinal sin. I like the real concept better...no hard feelings.

Don't like hatchbacks, huh? Do you like the C6 with a hatchback?

I think it looks pretty good.

I'm working on an entry for the contest as well, and I used a C6 hatch for my photochop. (I didn't steal your idea, honest. I made that part of my chop back on Sunday.)

eh, blame the SS concept's photographer.

thanks for the comments guys. i knew not everyone would like it, it doesn't looks old. i LOVE the new camaro, but why should they build a new one that looks 40 years old (retro) when they could've built one that looks brand new (modern)? if they bring the firebird back, it should be modern and the camaro retro. but if the bird's really dead, then i think modern is ok for the camaro.

this one isn't retro, in my opinion, it's a modern image of the camaros roots the hatchback and single side windows are out and it needed the rear quarter window (or whatever its called im not familiar with the term) im not saying i dont like the other ones with those features im just saying they need to oust it and use the original window/trunk design so those who had a 1st gen growing up get to see a modern version that brings them back to that time.

but what about people my age, who grew up with the 3rd and 4th gens? seeing a retro 1st gen doesn't bring me back to anything except "HOLY ***** THATS COOL". that's partially why i'm attached to the corvette-style cabin and large center grille.

no hatchbacks until the 80's Mustang look-a-like came along.....

I think its a nice alternative. The front is a tad blunt (in a late 80's Monte Carlo kid of way). May look better with the headlight pushed back to the fender line giving the front a little more depth and character.

ummm actually all camaros until 81 had trunks and all camaros 82 till 2002 had hatchbacks. the 70s camaros were just fastbacks.

    Re: Camaro entry not used

I like the hatchbacks. I love it on my Iroc-Z, mutch better than a trunk in my opinion, but I'm used to the hatch, that might have something to do with it.. as for the Camaro mod pic. looks nice but is too busy, in my opinion.
