I knew I saw that front from somewhere. The shape of the grille, is the shape of the front sheetmetal of the new Acura TL. And the little drop below the headlights is reminding me of the little drop in the MDX.
I thought Acura when I first opened the page, and went and looked at their site to confirm. And for all the Acura I'm seeing I can't say I dig it too much, at least not for the a Caddy
I'm not feeling the grille, it looks too much like an Nissan Altima's.
Looks great, very clean.
hmm..not bad, not bad at all actually. clean drawing for one, nice render as well. I like the design, interesting newer front end. I actually like the greenhouse..something about the body lines i dont like..yet when i try to remove one (either the top of bottom on the doors, or the little one between the lights and grill) it doesnt sem to make sense. The line on the doors with the squiggle in it, i think thats the one thats bothering me, yet i really like how it lok towards the rear of the car...hmm
Usually when you guys dislike one of my sketches/designs I tend to agree, but I really like this one! The goal was to create a bolder more aggressive version of the Cadillac front end, and mix this with odd sculptural body lines like newer BMWs do. Supposed to make the viewer think "that is interesting". Perhaps some more photoshop work will define the side surfaces more, I'll look into that.
regardless thanks for the comments!
I rather like the lower fascia treatment, however, the grille does bother me. Unfortunately the first thing that I thought of was a Nissan Altima.
I wouldn't mind seeing a little more of a render, possibly with some of the underlying pencil marks worked out before I say much more about it...
I do think that the rocker panel treatment is very interesting, I like how it goes from a concave shape to a convex shape. The "teardrop" is very interesting, however, I am trying to figure out how exactly it is oriented. Does it fold under the headlight, sort of like what went on with the Ford Kuga?
My only other "issue" with the drawing is the fact that the rims are convex... A convex rim REALLY reminds me of wheel covers. When you look for sportier wheels, you usually see a lip or a very concave shape. Your wheel centers need to move diagonally to the left and up, for example, on your front wheel, you need to follow the center line of the spoke that is about 30 degrees above the horizontal...

You might be on to something with the grill/bumber, but on this car it just doesn't work.
I like it. Could you possibly do a two tone in that center section on the doors to see what it would look like.
