A Cadillac hatchback, this is so wrong! Would BMW launch that in the USA?
:drive:
I swear, everyone thinks too highly of the Converj concept...
IMO, the headlamps, taillamps, and side character line are too radical. Other than that, I like it.

yes...yes they would. A hatch-ish ATS would make for a great wagon type car without giving it a wagon look. But, as history has told us, the 3 series hatch didnt work, the C hatch didnt sell. The 1 wasnt brought here in hatch because of that.
It would be a great idea for GM in Europe.
We are in the USA, HATCHBACKS DIE HERE! My point is get Cadillac to build this tripe, it will just lose money! You or anyone else will not buy it!
I try to encourage creativity, but after a night of boozing, just rest!
:drive:
Read my last Post, think and then respond! BMW has cash too burn, they do not need to sell the hatchback in the USA, they have EUROPE, THE MIDDLE EAST, and ASIA to sell anything they want to! GM IS IN FINANCIAL TROUBLE, in spite of all that told them not to release the CTS wagon, they did it, added to the expense of the line (overall sales are declining more that 54%, and they are losing their shirts, some have lost their jobs. The losses have affected their families (Sarah Henderson's breakdown of decorum ).
Yeah, I'm sure the Henderson's are now in financial turmoil.
Why don't we talk about the quality of the work instead of whether or not the vehicle would be a success?
I like the rendering, but I think it needs a longer rear door.

Thanks AJ and Slideways for giving some design feedback. I agree that Converj cues are still a model cycle or so away from being mainstream Cadillac, but I am a fan of the concept so I end up putting the Converj's lines onto my designs. As for the rear door, I will see what I can do. And thanks for trying to redirect the focus of this thread Slideways :)Quote:

This might be tough because you sketched it, but my suggestion is to either lengten the wheelbase or rear overhang. That way, you can gain a larger rear door while still keeping the hatchback profile instead of a wagon profile.
IMO, a well-proportioned four-door design keeps the front door and rear door about the same length, length being measured at the windowline. Like, in the image of the 5-series with its trunk open, you can see that at the windowline, the two doors are about the same length.
However, I do understand that some cars have their rear doors longer than the front doors on purpose.
