    All this pontiac hype.....

A while ago, when first reading the pontiac shakeup thread, I thought, hey why not design a pontiac the way that I think they should be designed, pulling off some heritage design cues, but making the car look modern, not like it could have been designed in the 80's. Any way, I had fun doing this, however I am going to try and do a re-design of it once I find the time. I found that the Front end is a little too short, and something about the perspective looks a little off.... maybe like it is twisted, any way, Here is my version of a GRAND PRIX (not G8!!) Note the return of the stacked headlights, and the removal of the BMW-like grille, being replaced with something a little more like what it used to be....

you just need to tastefully differentiate between both brands. I like the idea and agree with it and the design. NO ONE mistakes a pontiac for a BMW, if thats the goal...GM has failed miserably (worse than the current minivans, ouch!)

I am definitely in favor of retro-evolutionary styling from the 60's/70's, especially Trans Am's and GTO's as inspiration and distribute that throughout the entire lineup!

Almost has a Bugatti feel to it, in the arch of the fenders, windows, and roofline. Along the lines of the Rageous concept... not in design so much as overall feel. Quite a departure from current Pontiacs, which I think would be a great idea! With 8 North American brands, why can't GM sacrifice one and try something like this? If it doesn't work, big deal, you've got 7 others with cars that don't offend anyone.

I relly like the grille... a wild version of the split grille... I also like the wide window ledges... gives the car a super tough stance. Your cut line along the side of the car, just below the window ledges, is very well integrated... love how it doesn't just fade out like most cars but joins up with the rear wheel well. Looks like a fairly quick sketch... if you find the time, do another tidier version, because when you do your drawings look great!

I like where you're going with it. Clean it up, add some more detail, and I think we have something here!
