As part of my own dream Chevrolet lineup, the Lumina takes the Impala's spot as a full-size FWD sedan. The Impala is now on the Zeta platform, sized between the Holden Commodore and Statesman.
The new Impala is basically a productionized SS concept, with some minor changes to keep the Impala lower on costs. The overall design of the SS concept is still present, including fully functional side vents.
The new Impala is offered with two engines split over three trim levels. LS and LT get a direct-injected 3.6L V6, good for 305hp, while the SS gets a slightly detuned 6.2L "LS3" V8, good for 425hp. All Impala models are RWD-based, but AWD is the only drivetrain. A 6-speed automatic is standard across the board, with a 6-speed manual available on the SS.
So, may I present...
So...what does everyone think?
