You have to give a url in order for the image to show.
You need to have your image hosted. For example join imageshack.com or some other free image hosting site. Upload your image then copy the url and paste it here like you tried to do.
Or you can go to advanced when you reply to a message and click "Manage Attachments" to upload your .jpg image. Make sure it is a valid image with an accepted extension.
Well, first you have to upload the image to the internet somehow. You can use this site, with the manage attachments button you can see if you scroll down a bit. Click that, browse, find your image, upload, and there you go.
An alternate solution is to use an online photo album (I generally use Photobucket), and when you upload an image to that, post the image with its URL. Between the [IMG][/IMG] tags, paste the URL where the image can be found. For instance, I have a random image at http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v157/Citric/dash.bmp, so I would put that URL between the image tags, and then it can be seen like so .
