2010 Focus - with more IOSIS cues

I like the new Focus - just can't stand the front grille opening...

something like the IOSIS would have been a better choice

    original

Nice work. I like the change, but I don't think the original bugs me as much as it bugs you.

ha! to each their own page2171

    Thanks for the kind words

I just think the front is 'overcooked' for a small car and makes it look more like a CUV than a regular sedan/5-door

Love it. I agree with you on the front grill. It's huge and the triangle things are far to large and obvious.

    Nice work

Much better. The softer (and smaller) triangular shapes do wonders for the car. The original look was way too harsh and didn't blend well with the body.

I like that...did you do something to the headlights? They almost look sorta kinda cross eyed. They make the car a lil "slow" so to speak

    Good job!

I like that you made the lower grill smaller.
Which is what I wanted to see done though w/the street/fog lights incorporated into sides of the lower grill. But it is ok that you didn't do this latter part.
If you still want to, go ahead. I'd still like to see what it would look like.

    !!!
IF It's A Chevrolet & RWD, Don't ride in it!!!

ALL Chevy's NEED to be FWD/F-AWD!!!

    If it's a Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Don't ride in/drive it!!

I think he means moving the foglights inward into the black louvered triangles. It might actually look quite good...

I like what you did. The only thing I figured I dont like about the focus is on states where you need a front liscense plate its gonna look weird on that lower grill.

I wonder if Monaross can do some sort of future escape based off of this?

license plates on the front of almost any car today look awkward. I think they ruin the entire design of the vehicle and should be banned permanently.

Just another gimmick to generate money for the state it is inplemented.

is the new Escape based on the Focus platform? I see no reason why a future Escape would have anything to do with the Focus visually...

Re: 2010 Focus - with more IOSIS cues

Great job Camaro_Freak, but why would you want to tone the front _down_?
I think the whole car needs turning up a couple notches. The profile is a confused mash of lines, the headlamps are made of jell-o and the tail (of the hatch) is also weirdly meted. The previous generations of the Focus were chiseled, with a very purposeful sculpting to very body panel. The new car is looking fancy and looks soft as a result.

The front bumper is my favorite feature, however, as it unabashedly claims heritage with this:

The traditional Kinetic language tried to go there, especially with the chrome bins you expertly inserted, but it chickened out of going the whole 9 yards! In so many words, the lower Focus grille implies there is Turbo underneath, and the two vertical connections are holding up a down-force spoiler, sort of like on the Pikes Peak Fiesta:
    .

Many people simply see a garishly overdone front, but this reference makes it a gem in styling, especially because the Focus has earned that styling cue with its successful 12 years of racing.

    PS:

Yes, the car looks cross-eyed, and it has bothered me from day one!
