Volkswagen is reintroducing the Golf to the US market under the Rabbit name. They're dropping the Golf name in the US.Originally Posted by camaroman22

When it appeared they finally got their stuff together and stopped calling the Jetta names, they come up with this thing (and China managed to rename the Jetta too, calling it Sagittar )
I really like the name Rabbit. It's going to do much better in NA under that name. I wonder what's next? I like the ad too, very clever.
The Passat will be renamed Parati and the Passat Wagon will become Wanagon. Touareg will be called Schwimmwagen, and Phaeton will become Volkswagen Brasilia. Everybody will get confused and even if the Golf will be declared the car of the millennium in Europe, nobody will notice in America.Originally Posted by ChevroletRevived
No...in the US, the Passat would become the Dasher. The Touareg would become the Thing. And the Phaeton would become the Audi 200...oh, wait....that won't work.Originally Posted by Bravada
