Nice drawing, but in my opinion, too round for a Golf. the rear (behind the a-pillar) looks like you copied it from one of your van contest entries
yeah, i was more concerned with the front (as i am with most of my drawings) so my rears may end up looking similar once in a while.Originally Posted by Rex Raider
I dont like the headlights at all, but that can be a quick fix. I dont know if I see much Golf in it, maybe a Passat wagon?
This is very nice, if VW made a Golf Variant (wagon) of the MkV, it might look kinda like it. If you think it's too rounded for a VW, check out the MkV hatchback and Plus compact minivan. Did you take the headlights from the 2008 update photoshop "impressions" circling around?
Just a sidenote - I know you really like this curved ascending beltline, and it really works in this case, but do try other ones too! Your skills are very good and visibly improving, it would be a shame if you limited yourself!
very very good, but your proportions are off. the beltline too high, and the roof above it too low.
as a result, this looks about the size of a pacifica, not a golf.
thanks for the comments everyone.
i did the drawing with the new passat in mind, and those headlights were inspired by it. I also wanted the car to look a bit wagonish, make it look bigger than it really is.
Bravada- Ill try to reduce the number of times i use that belt line, but to me, its either that, or a straight line. I guess i have to do some research to get inspiration for other beltlines (this one was inspired by mercedes).
Overall, it's a nice design, though I don't like the headlights, and the badge would look better if it was moved to the middle of the grille.

I don't understand the line from the headlight to the wheel well.
That's where the bumper meets the fender.Originally Posted by armstrong
