    2007/8/9 El Camino idea

tried a few photchop contests and this is my first just for "FUN"
saw the original picture on autoweek.com and instantly got the idea of putting on a new impala face and lowering it.

any creative comments/criticisms are appreciated ahead of time

    <EDIT> update

Have you seen the Holden Ute or the Southafrican Chevy Lumina Ute?

Just in case you guys are wondering, on what Pick-Up Truck, Judgehead5267 based his Chop.

It's the Brazilian Designed and Brazilian Made, Chevrolet Montana.

It's based on the Current Corsa.

For further information, you can check it out at: http://www.chevrolet.com.br/home.html#montana

The Brazilians, also export this small pickup truck, named as the Chevrolet Tornado to the Mexican market.

    Check it out: http://www.chevrolet.com.mx/content_...do/diseno.html

    Best Wishes.

NO, im sorry but i am starting from a completely different car, diff. headlights even if they are similar, and i wanted criticism, not complaints that it had already been done. everyone has there own ideas.

by the way, how many camaro ideas have there been? answer me that

    yikes...needacamaro...

he is basing his el camino on a real platform.. not a chopped monte carlo that will never happen

it would have been one thing if he used a monte carlo car for his chop.. then I'd say you'd have a legit reason to post...

but he didn't so stop post whoring on this thread

thanks alot camaro freak, he is just mad because he isnt getting any comments on his cars and someone just happens to have an idea similar to his and he has to jump in front of the camera and draw all the attention to him. no big deal

lets forget about it and go back to commenting on the car itself. i hope to have an updated version up sometime tomorrow, maybe tonight

    Re: 2207/8/9 El Camino idea

I've always believed that a chop has to have some basis in reality..... the resulting vehicle should be something operational and marketable. That's the problem I have with a Monte-based El Camino, why would anyone want a front wheel drive 'pick-up', it's just not feasible for anything except an extremely light duty vehicle. The Monaro based Ute SS that 327 posted makes a lot more sense.

Interested is seeing your updated version, Jughead. The Montana was a good find.

    Re: 2207/8/9 El Camino idea

god forbid the el camino ever come back on a front wheel drive platform. if anything it should be based off the gmt355, ride at the zq8 height, standard cab, 6 ft bed with midgate, decent wheels (17), and have sloping bedrails, like the 3rd gen el caminos/ridgeline (kinda).

just in case u didnt notice the update up top, i cleaned up the grill a little bit, got rid of the B-pillar, enlarged the wheels, and botched the butt-ugly roof rack.

again, any comments would be appreciated

Your updates certainly sharpened up that truck, the cleaner the better. Again, glad you came across the Montana/Tornado (sure some funky GM vehicles worldwide), I did some quick chops on it just playing around last night, it was lots of fun!
