    Roundtable Review Feedback

As most of you probably saw, we launched a new kind of review today. With these reviews we have at least three of us (Alex, Mark and myself) reviewing the same vehicle with 6 objective criteria. Each person takes a lead for each segment, with the other two following up with their input or differing opinion.

We feel like this approach is something unusual and allows us to bring a more objective approach as we're averaging three opinions.

What do you guys think? We have more of these in the works.

    Re: Roundtable Review Feedback

I believe this is the best way to review cars. Having access to multiple, experienced drivers and their opinions of a certain vehicle gives a much more complete picture of that model, as opposed to a single writer representing GMI on his own.

I did enjoy the layout of the new review. It's easier to skim through (not that I don't want to read every word that you lads write!). Vehicles which I have driven, such as this Verano Premium Turbo, I know my feelings on the model, so I simply scan to see what others' opinions may be on certain attributes.

Well done and I look forward to your future "Roundtable Reviews."

One suggestion, with GMI's worldwide contributors, let's see reviews of similar models that are available globally included in future roundtable reviews...

I loved it! Reminds me of the old car magazines reviews.

    Re: Roundtable Review Feedback

I had been wondering what was taking so long to see reviews, after you guys were saying you had the test vehicles. But it made sense when I saw the headline.

I liked it, it added more depth to the review. You're each a little freer to focus on what you each want to point out, rather than every thing.

I would request that you keep the order of the editors consistent throughout each section. I know, "you can read the name" but it went Mark/Nick/Alex, then Nick/Alex/Mark, then Alex/Mark/Nick... Changing between reviews is fine (everyone can have a turn going first ), but in the future in a given review it might make it flow a little better.

Also, have to nitpick with proofreading/editing. Saw a typo or two, like the styling getting a bad "wrap."

Verano is a car that aims to be inoffensive, but I imagine over time we'll get to see you guys disagree on some things.

agreements and disagreements between reviews with regards to specific features. seems to be 3 reviews slapped into one with a summary.

EDIT: along with with poster above-keep names in same order.

I like it, it helps balance out the score especially one who may or may not be bias towards RWD V8 only anything else sucks mentality

EDIT: Not saying anyone has that mentality, just saying different strokes for different folks

    Re: Roundtable Review Feedback

One reviewer is clearly biased towards Ford, but we knew that all along.
As far as room for improvement.....

Great, Plane posted spy shots and ruined the surprise.

Ahem... is that even anatomically possible?

    Re: Roundtable Review Feedback

Hold off until the next roundtable review before we dwell on grammar issues. It proved difficult merging three very different writing styles, and matters were not helped by the fact we were beyond our original deadline...so things were rushed in the end.

Now that we have the process down, the next would should be improved in terms of mechanics.

    Re: Roundtable Review Feedback

Edit: I guess it helps to read the review first before commenting on it.

Ratings should line up [7.7] on the left [10.0], highlighted [7.0] , or be in tabular format [9.000034232] to make comparisons easier on GMIers.

It seems to be a good idea so keep on with it for sure I enjoyed reading it even though I thought it was a bit brief in places (deadlines?). Regarding names I think the person who has the vehicle the longest should be the first name.
