    Problems Editing Avatar

I've been trying unsuccessfully to change my Avatar over the past few days. It doesn't seem to matter what file size the image is, or what image size it is, or whether I load the image from my PC or from an image url. It always comes back as "Invalid File". I've tried the same image from multiple sources. And have tried multiple images from multiple sources all to no avail. Am I doing it wrong?

Is the picture you're trying to use a PNG, JPG, or something else?

As I said, I've tried using the same image, from multiple sources, tried DL'ing it to my computer and then uploading it to GMI, tried using just the URL, tried using other images, all of which were smaller than 120x120 and smaller than whatever KB file size is the limit. And even tried using my original avatar because obviously, I used it before, so it should work. Every time, I got an "Invalid File" error message.

Also, something weird has been going on lately. I keep tabs on my stats, as far as thanked posts, profile visitors, etc. Mostly for personal amusement, and the numbers have been jumping all over the place. My profile went from having 91 visits, to 89...how do you lose profile visitors?

Yesterday I had several pages of supposedly unread threads stack up after a new posts search. Only other time that happened to me was when we had the great disappearing threads debacle that lasted months.

Maybe 2B2 is right and the Admins are out to tamper with some of us from the no password change thread.

Or worse still, maybe the password thing is just part of a larger tinkering the Admins are doing 'cos they are bored or need to justify their jobs etc and so we could be in for system-wide issues.

Will they ever learn? If it ain't broke; don't fix it....

I had the same thing happen multiple times. I think everything is tied to the fact that "they" are monkeying with the site's coding again.
