It just did it to me there too, so I closed the page out and brought the site back up again on a new tab.

Did some research on your issue. Im usually pretty good figuring out problems.
Here's link describing your issue and I have highlighted on here what happens when you use IStart………..

As mentioned above, the Istart.webssearches.com hijacker infection also changes the internet browser’s search engine. So, your web browser, when searching something, will display a hodgepodge of ads, links to unwanted and add web-sites and search results of a big search engines such as Google or Bing. As a result, actual use of a web browser’s search becomes uncomfortable. Moreover, it can also lead to slowing or even freeze your internet browser.

Their recommendation of Malwarebytes program is actually very goo. I use the paid version but it seems you only need free version.
Anyway you decide whats best for you. Just a suggestion .

Please disable "Enhanced" mobile view. Every time I want to pull up GMI on my iPhone or iPad, it never works right.

I'm noticing lately when I'm not logged in and refresh the page or click on the "What's New" link I get a "must wait 7 seconds and try again" notice. Well, yesterday that notice changed to "must wait 8 seconds to try again" and it never changes or allows me to do it, no matter how long I wait until trying again. It works just fine though when I'm logged in and refresh and click on "What's New". Anybody else having this issue with the site?

With regards to threads not updating when you're logged out.
We recently added Cloudflare to the site to provide an optimum experience for users for both site speed and security.
This programme prioritizes users who are logged in first so visitors to the site won't see the most up to date content. I'd say that's what's going on here.
