    Competition Discussion not inclusive

Where would we talk about competition from other American companies, such as Tesla or Fisker? They don't fit into the Ford, Chrysler, Asian, or European categories.

Fisker is as much as a car company right now as Matchbox or Hot Wheels

kidding: of course. We will consult about it in the inner sanctum.

I guess that means we go to the Matchbox / Hot Wheels discussion section.

If anyone got sales into either of their numbers, they'd probably sell more cars than people on the planet.

The other suggestion I have is to open up some of the categories to frequent news contributors.

For example, there are a large number of articles related to alternative fuels and green car technology. Is there a particular reason why some sections aren't available?

    Probably just in Competition News.

Otherwise it might be wise to have an American Competition discussion because of the fact that there are many production cars produced under brand names other than the Big Three, such as:

    Fisker

    Tesla

    Mosler

    Saleen

    Panoz

    SSC

    etc

Those categories do get opened to frequent news contributors. Several people have "News Contributor" status (you can see it under their name).

From what I've observed, to be selected you'd have to first be regularly contributing relevant news AND you would have to be in complete compliance with the format guidelines that so many people ignore when they post something in the Suggest a News Article section.

However, I'm not sure if there's a need for more now.

I'm not sure if vBulletin supports article templating but if it does I would certainly encourage incorporating the feature.

Just based on a quick survey of articles that appear on the site today, "complete compliance" seems like a relative term - for staff members and contributors as well.
