The one thing I hate about a lot of sites including my email is the autoplay on everything and some you have no choice in being able to disable the feature.

I've been having problems with the YouTube videos....all I see are black boxes. I was wondering what they changed on the site that buggered up everything else..

A word of advice for you guys.... AdBlocker.....changed my life, GMI was death before I used it.

Autoplaying video ads with sound are not supposed to be on the site. If you see one, copy the url address of it and send it our way. We'll block it from the site

This one RANDOMLY plays sound. Plus, it causes the page to never finish loading.

    Re: Autoplay video ads????

Thanks. Link has been sent along.

I need the links to make pulling easier, and frankly possible. The way internet ads work now, it's not like we individually choose which ones to place where. That whole process is automated and done by bots. There are thousands of possible ads that can be assigned to people, and the bots decide which ads go where and for who, based off what browser you are using, what sort of device you are on, what your rough geographic location is, and cookies/search history. Probably some other factors too that I don't know.

Without the link, it's next to impossible to track down a specific ad. The exact same ad can have a hundred different iterations as it customizes for all the factors I listed above. But the link is unique, and so we use it to search through.

Probably more info then necessary there. If you get these again, please let me know. We have filters in place to keep ad types we don't want from coming on-board, but occasionally they break down (and some ad creators are making ads designed to circumvent the filters. Can't prove who without evidence)

Side note if you get another one: tech tells me a screenshot of the page it displayed on is helpful too for figuring out how this got on and past the filters

    How about just no ads!

I like the idea but some will say there goes all the revenue that they say they bring in by getting the clicks. How about this "The Advertising Channel" to take care of all these ads.

    Re: Autoplay video ads????

    Hey guys,

We do have allotted number of ads that appear on the site but they should not in any way shape or form be intrusive to your user experience. If you encounter pop up ads, redirects and/or video ads that automatically play, these should not be there and we require your assistance in removing these.

Please provide the following details so we can get alert our techs to get rid of these at once more effectively:

    1. Device/OS/browser you're using
    2. Geo-location (city/state - we ask for this because often times these are region based)
    3. Redirect URL - if you are getting redirect, please copy/paste the URL
    4. Screenshot(s)
    5. Ad call - this is the best piece of evidence to help locate the source: right click on the ad itself and select either "inspect element" or "view frame source" (whichever you see). A new tab should open and display a bunch of code - copy and paste this code and report it to us.

We apologize for any inconvenience these ads have caused you. Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter.

    Cheers,
    Natalie
