    Watch: A C8 Take on a Demon

When the C8 came out, we heard all about the advantages of a mid-engine layout. Actually, a rear-mid-engine layout. Now, we’re getting some evidence of the advantage of having the weight over the rear wheels. The latest video evidence comes from Canada’s Throttle House. The channel pitted the 490 hp C8 Corvette against an 840 […]

The Demon HAS to be on a prepped surface for its launch control to work. Otherwise it is nothing but a higher HP Hellcat w/ slightly less traction issues.

Amazing how much physics come into play. The Demon has about 66% more power, but barely edges the Vette out even in the rolling start. I'm sure if they kept going then the Demon's lead would widen, but still an impressive display on the impacts of weight distribution and why GM switched to mid-engine for the Vette. Can't wait to see how the more powerful C8's perform.

I wonder how they'd do at a sustained high speed, I assume the Vette has superior aerodynamics and how that would perform vs. the Demon's greater power.

Wait till the C8 comes with a smaller displacement, high-feature V8 with mid-500s horsepower (which I have to believe is coming) and comes in at a hundred pounds less. The Demon will have even a harder time.

The Z06, is going to demolish a lot of cars. There is no one outside Chevrolet in autodom looking forward to the Z06, because they know, their outrageous pricing are about to be exposed for the rip off they are.
