CT4 to Follow CT5 Reveal Later this Year

Cadillac president Steve Carlisle has confirmed that the CT4 will also be revealed this year. Following the reveal of the CT5 yesterday, and Cadillac’s promise that it would debut the car next month at the New York Auto Show, the CT4 will be Cadillac’s second sedan debut this year. Carlisle made his comments to Automotive […]

Re: CT4 to Follow CT5 Reveal Later this Year

I think CT4 is supposed to be more of a traditional look, without the fastback roofline.

CT4 is smaller than the ATS. So is the CT5 an ATS- or CTS-sized car, or in between those two?

Did a production timeline get posted already for when the ATS coupe and CTS would end. My guess is for LA as well for the CT4 debut. It would be cool to be able to see both sedans.

LA makes sense unless Cadillac throws a private party to reveal it.

In a different thread, someone posted back in January that ATS production had already ended. They wanted to order one and could not.

The CT4 has the same greenhouse and therefore wheelbase as the ATS, and the length likely will be close. It's the price that's supposed to drop, probably to what people were actually paying for the ATS after discounts.

The back window looks to be the same, but the trunk sides will step down, like the previous generation Malibu, to decrease the profile's wedge-look and ape Escala & CT5 as much as the canted beltline allows.

The ATS sedan has. That’s why I only included the coupe.

Right. There was no '19 sedan. Poster SavoieRF (or something like that) wanted to factory order a coupe in December or January and said that he was too late. Considering sales figures, it probably wouldn't take them very long to build a year's supply of coupes, so they might have stopped production by then.

That seems reasonable. If it's revealed like the CT5 in October then shown in the "flesh" in November it jibes with the "every-six-months" thing.

I wonder what this means for the new Escalade's reveal? That's a very important product for Cadillac.

I'll bet they've stopped CTS production too or will very soon, so they can switch the whole line over to CT5 & 4 at once, but hold off on mass producing 4's until later. If they're smart, they'll add in CT6 while they're at it.

Re: CT4 to Follow CT5 Reveal Later this Year

With the SUV side finally fleshed out with XT4-6, the Escalades, and now CT4-6, Cadillac will finally have a pretty full lineup. The sedans may not be big sellers, but overall Cadillac sales in the US should be set for a big spike.

I hope they have plans for a coupe and convertible. I wouldn't hold my breath on that, but if they really want to complete with the German brands, they need to offer what they offer. About the only thing that could possibly ever have me considering something other than my ATS Coupe in the foreseeable future would be a convertible.

If they have a coupe or convertible, would it use "CT" as the name? Rather than CT5 Coupe, I think they should use different letters (GT5? ST5?), but whatever. I just hope they're working on it, and that the launch isn't ridiculously long after the sedan, as they did with the ATS Coupe.

    CC5 -- Cadillac Coupe 5
    CD5 -- Cadillac Décapotable 5 (French for "convertible"...hey can't both be CC!)

To my eye the ATS Coupe is the best-looking of the previous generation Caddies. I hope they do another coupe/convertible at some point...

What does that "T" in everything stand for? Touring?

I think CTS was originally Cadillac Touring Sedan, but they seem set on having the "T" in the middle of everything.
