New Duramax 6.6 V8, at last?

Just saw that the foundry WHB in Brazil where GM is the main customer is rigth now in negotiations for two volume orders for blocks and heads in CGI. The orders might be signed in 2020 and they claim that it will be delivered in the second half of 2021

One of them might be GM

WHB's intention is to enter the CGI market as an alternative to current players. The company's goal is to obtain, still in 2020, at least two large orders for blocks and heads. WHB will compete directly with Tupy, which last December announced the purchase of Teksid Fundição de Ferro. "Currently, we are the only companies with the capacity to produce CGI in Brazil", highlights the director.

It might be the new Duramax 6.6 l V8

Very hard to say at this point. No word of any new 6.6L Duramax on the horizon and WHA supplies almost everybody in the industry. Wild speculation that the blocks and heads are for the next generation Duramax (keep in mind the current Duramax uses aluminum heads). More likely the contracts will be for someone other than GM, possibly a heavy duty engine if the heads are going to be CGI.
