    My 19 Denali Ultimate

Some of you know I drove all the new full size trucks extensively before settling. Anyway, the dust settled and this 19 Denali wound up the winner. I paused from my plans to buy in the new year because I wanted a later build date in hopes of less problems. Haven't hit 500 miles yet so my impressions are fresh. I'll do it thumbs up/down style.

    Thumbs up
    - Power, just pulls like crazy, It does not feel fast, it effortlessly gathers speed and gets to triple digits like nothing.
    - Transmission is a jewel, never hesitates and shifts smoothly up and down
    - Ride strikes a nice balance between comfort and sport (tour mode is best all around) very happy, its quiet and very confident
    - Exterior styling, getting plenty of comments and attention on the road
    - It handles exceptionally well for a truck
    - Interior is functional and well screwed together, I do have a few gripes though.
    - Tailgate= awesome

    Thumbs down
    - Lets start with the interior stuff. I dislike the wheel that controls the center info screen. I tend to bump it causing it to change screens. I kept pressing the "up" arrow which isn't a button at all, getting used to it though. The start button seems to low in the dash. The lower door panels always look crappy, they attract dust and easily scuff during ingress/egress. The smaller glove box is tiny and looks out of place. The "bong bong bong" sounds awful and needs to go, I think GM's used it since the 80's. No power tilt/tele steering, no power pedals, they should be here at the price point.
    - Power running boards scare me. You shut the door, start the truck only to hear an alarming "THUNK" when they retract.
    - Hate the fuzzy inner fender liners, hard to clean

    Whats on the fritz
    - Center info screen is flickering on startup screen when I open the door

I'll keep updates coming. So far I'm very happy with my choice, its an amazing truck.

Added a bed cover, well worth the price,

Beautiful truck!!!!! Congrats and I wish you many years of happiness with it!

You don't like the GM door chime? I don't even think of it, its always been there my whole life (literally)! Anyone know exactly when GM started using it?

No power-pedals on an almost $70K truck?

Nope, going to guess 90's, but I doubt all models switched at the same time.

it's one of those sounds that I feel like has always been there, but I can't really pinpoint it.

    I was thinking that my 1999 GMT800 Sierra had it and my dad's 1995 GMT400 didn't.

The "thunk" is unfortunate, but it would totally be worth it to me. Power running boards drastically improve the looks of pretty much every truck. They make them look so, so, so much cleaner.

    Congrats on your new truck!

The best version of the new truck for sure! Looks amazing! The GM chime has kind of been a quirk for a long time.

And why I bought my 2016 off lease instead of going with a 2019, and told the dealer that at least 20 times.

My Boss has power pedals on his F-150 XLT (XLT = SLE) pretty bad.

No excuse not to be an standard on the Denali and and option from SLE up, whoever is responsible must be fired ASAP.

    Nice Truck!

Know what you mean about hitting triple digits (of course mine only hits 99) and it does it almost immediately if you hit the gas doing anything over 65 MPH, first time the engine quit I thought I had a problem until I figured out it did it a 99.

You get used to the "THUNK" from the boards and will wonder how you did without them.

Hope it runs great for you for a long time.

Thanks all! This thing is still impressing me every time I drive it. New center screen on order, I guess the "flickering" is not uncommon. Other than that its a well screwed together rig.
